Hazwnions,President of The Edgewater Point, Inc, was received and read, request- ing a refund of Otate, County and Town taxes for the year 1926, upon the property formerly known as "The Flagler Residence" at Orienta Point because of the destruction - - of the building by fire. The communication was ordered placed on file and the matter referred to a committee to- gether with Counsel for their report and recommendation; The Supervisor thereupon appointed the following committee: Justices Boyd and Howell and the Oupervisor. A communication from the Veterans of Foreign Wars was received and react inviting the Town Board to be present at the second anniversary of the Post, to be held at tdasonic Hall April 16th, 1926, The corunication was ordered placed on file, and upon motion: duly seconded, it was voted that the invitation of the David Potts Post-Veterans of Foreign Wars to their second anniversary to be held on April 16,1926, at Yasonic Hall be and the same hereby is accepted. A communication from the County Transportation Corporation was received and read, amending its table of through fares as submitted in its original application. The communication was ordered placed on file and the same referrred to the Supervisor, A communication from the Westchester County Bus System, Inc, was received and read amending their application for bus franchise as submitted on December 15, 1925, The communication was ordered placed on file and the matter referred to the Supervisor, The Supervisor stated thAt he had attended several conferences of a committee representing the various municipalities throughout the county and he informed the Board that a meeting was to be held on Wednesday,April 14th, at White Plains, at which time the representative of each municipality would be asked to express their preference as to which applicant for a bus franchise it favored, and he requested that the Board a&ise him what action to take® After due consideration, it was upon motion, duly seconded RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to attend the conference of the various municipalities on Wednesday,April 24th, next; and that he be empowered to cast his vote for the applicant of a bus franchise in accordance with his best judgment to the end that the Town may be able to secure the most advantageous _ franchise obtainable. --- A communication from Mr, Philip M. Friedman was received and read stating that the blasting in Hickory Grove Drive had cracked the stucco on the walls and ceilings of his home. The communication was ordered placed on file, noted. in the minutes,and referred to the Sewer Commissioners. I to M The ratter of the publication of the Tax Sale List was taken up and after discussion, it was, upon motion duly seconded, RESOLVED, that the oupervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to have the Tax Sale List published in a local newspaper and in the manner as provided by law, and that the cost thereof be made a proper Town charge. The Reeeivet"of Taxes requested the purchase of a glass top for his desk in his office. The matter was referred to the Town Clerk who was authorized to purchase the some upon the securing of proper estimates therefor. The Committee on Fire House Apparatus floor sub- mitted their report of various bids received and after due consideration it was voted that the same be referred back to the Committee for further data and report. Tyr. Brewer of the Building Commission reported that he had been served with an Order to Show Cause by the Mahlstedt-Stden Corporation for the issuance of a building permit. Upon motion duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that the Order fo show cause served upon the Building Commission by the mahlstedt-Steen Corporation be and the same hereby is referred to Special Counsel-Mr.J.Henry Esser. Upon the recommendation of the Supervisor, it was RESOLVED, that The Trust Company of Hamaroneck be and it hereby is desig- nated as a depository of Town funds. The Committee to carom was referred the bids received for the painting and plastering at the Weaver Street Police Station reported that they had tabulated and considered the bids received and recommended that the plastering contract be awarded to the Chas. G.Maiolino Construction Corporation; and the painting to A. Moshier; thereupon, upon motion by Justice Howell,seconded by Justice Collins, the following resolution was presented and upon Roll Call unanimously adopted, wH 'REAS, pursuant to due advertisement bids have been received for furnishing all labor and material to do all the respective works specified below in connection with the reconstruction and altering of the Police House located at Edgewood Road in the Town. of Yamaroneck,Y.Y, as shown on the drawings and described in the specifications prepared by O.R. Eggers and C.r.Mink, associated architects, and 7HEREAS, after considering the bids received for said respect- ive work, it is believed that the acceptance of the bid for each respective item is in the interest of the Town of Esmaroneck, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the proposals of the following bidders for the respective work set forth below be and the same hereby are accepted- (a) The bid of `has .G.Maioli-rno Construct- ion Corporation of Mamaroneok,N.Y, in the sum of $1000.00 for plastering work, including the furnishing of all labor and material. (b ) The bid of A.Moshier in the sum of $1145.00 for painting work, including - - the furnishing of all labor and material. --- All of said work to be done as shown and called for on the drawings and specifications of Messrs.Mink & Eggers, together with the conditions thereto and in accordance with the Advertisement to Bidders, proposals and contracts, and on the terms and conditions herein approved, and it was farther RESOLVED, that Counsel be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to immediately prepare contracts with the respective sudoessful bidders herein nailed covering the performance and completion of all said work as herein provided, and it was further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk be and they hereby are authorize4 and empowered to execute and deliver on behalf of the Town the aforesaid contracts when and as prepared and approved by Counsel, and it was further RESOLVED, that the aforesaid successful bidders be and they hereby are required and directed to furnish and file with the Town Clerk of the Town of Mamaroneck bonds and insurance policies as called for in the specifications in form and sufficiency satisfactory toGounsel; and it was further RESOLVED, that the Town Cleric be and he hereby is authorized and directed to hold the deposits of the successful bidders until the aforesaid contracts are executed. The Supervisor reported that .,here were no funds available with which to pay for the work in connection with the reconstruction and altering of the Police House, contracts Or which have just been let, and he suggested that provision be made to finance the cost thereof by the issuance and sale of temporary certificates of indebtedness. Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call unanimously RESOLVE ,whereas in connection with the reconstruction and altering of the Police House at Edgewood Road in the Town of Mamaroneck, in accordance with the draw- ings and specifications prepared by Messrs. Eggers & Mink, associated architects, the following work is to be done by the respective contractors hereinafter named at the cost set opposite each respective contract, to-wit- (a) Plastering by Chas. G.Maiclino Construction Cor- poration for the sum of $1000.00. (b ) Painting by A.Moshier for the sum of $1145.00 and WHERr',AS, said amount is to be assessed, levied and collected upon the Police District of the Town of Mamaroneck from the next regular budget of the Town upon the taxable property situate within said Police District of said Town; sane to be collected with Town taxes on April lst, 1927; and WHEREAS, the Supervisor has reported that there are no funds available with which to pay for said work, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered in accordance with law, to borrow upon the faith and credit of the Town of Mamaroneck the sum of not to exceed $2145.00 in anticipation of the taxes to be collected on April 1®1927, levied against the taxalbe real property situate within the Police District of the Town of Mamaroneck which comprises the unincorporated portions of the Town without the Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck) ; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to execute a temporary certificate or certificates of indebtedness in the total amount of not to exceed $2145.00 which shall bear interest at the rate of not to exceed 6% per annum payable at such time or times as the Supervisor may fix not exceeding however 18 months from the date thereof; and to dispose of said temporary certificate or certificates of indebtedness for not less than the par value thereof; and be it further _ RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk be and they hereby are authorized and empowered to sign and attest, respectively, the aforesaid temporary certificate or certificates of indebtedness in the name of and on behalf of the Town of Mamaroneck and to execute such other and further documents as may be necessary to effect the sale thereof. The Committee further reported that a new platform would be required in connection with the Justice® s Court and upon their recommendation it was upon motion duly seconded and upon Roll Call RESOLVED, that the Committee be and they hereby are authorized and empowered to have erected a platform in connection with the Justioe' s Court at the weaver Street Police House for the sum of not to exceed $95.00. The Committee further reported that they had considered the bid received for the installation of a fire alarm system at the weaver Street FireHouse and they recommended that the sane be awarded to the Gamewell Company for the sum of $5000,00; It was thereupon, upon motion by Justice Leeds, seconded by Justice Howell, and upon Roll Call RESOLVED,whereas pursuant to due Advertisement bids have been received for furnishing all labor and material to do all the respective work in connection with the Erection of one complete fire alarm system at the WeaverStreet Fire House in accordance with specifications for a fire alarm system for the weaver Street Fire House, Town of Mamaroneck,Y,Y. dated March 8, 1926, approved by this Board; and K WHEREAS, after considering the bid received for said respective work, it is believed that the acceptance of this bid is in the interest of the Town of Mamaroneck, therefore, be it RESCLVED, that the proposal of the following bidder for the respective work set forth below be and the same hereby is accepted- The bid of the uaamewell Company in the surf of -- $5000.00 for furnishing all labor and material in the erection of one complete fire alarm system at the Weaver Street Fire House, in accordance with the Advertisement to Bidders, proposals and contracts, and on the tezmz and conditions herein approved by this Board, and it was further RESCLVED, that Counsel be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to immediately prepare contracts for the successful bidder herein named covering the performance and completion of all said work as herein provided, and it was further RESCLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk be and they hereby are authorized and empowered to execute and deliver on behalf of the Towm the aforesaid contract when and as prepared and approved by Counsel; and it was further RESCLVED, that the aforesaid successful bidder - be and it hereby is required and directed to furnish and file with the Town Clerk of the Town of Mamaroneck, bonds and insurance policies as called for in the specifications in foam and sufficiency satisfactory to Counsel„ and it was further RESCLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to hold the deposit of the successful bidder until the aforesaid contract is executed. The Supervisor reported that there were no funds available with which to pay for the work in connection with the reconstruction and installation of the fire alarm system$ contract for which has just bedn let, and suggested that provision be made to finance the cost thereof by the issuance and sale of temporary certificates of indebtedness. Upon tion duly seconded it was upon Roll Call =unanimously RESCL`tED,whereas in connection with the reconstruction and installation of a fire alarm system at the Fire headquarters at Weaver Street andEdgewood Road in the Town of Yamaroneck,N.Y. in accordance with the specifications approved, contract for same having been awarded to the Game- well Company for the sun of $5000.00 and MIV RZN said amount is to be assessed, levied and collected upon the firelight and water supply district No. I of the Town of Mamaroneck in the next regular budget of the Town upon the taxable property situate within said firelight and water supDly district No. la same to be collected with Town taxes on April 1st, 1927; and SS'HEREAS, the Supervisor has reported that there are no funds available with which to pay for said work, now therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered in accordance with law, to borrow upon the faith and credit of the Town of Mamaroneck, - the sum of not to exceed $5, 000.00 in anticipation of the taxes to be collected on April 1,1927, levied against the taxable real property situate within firelight and water supply district Vo. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to execute a temporary certificate of certificates of indebtedness in the total amount of not to exceed $5000.00 which shall bear interest at the rate of not to exceed 6% per annum payable at such time or times as the Supervisor may fix not exceeding, however, 18 months from the date thereof; and to dispose of said temporary certificate or certificates of indebtedness for not less than the par value thereof; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk be and they hereby are authorized and empowered to sign and attest, respectively, the aforesaid temporary certificate or certificates of indebtedness in the name of and on behalf of the Town of Mamaroneck and to execute such other and further documents as may be necessary to effedt the sale thereof. The Committee heretofore appointed to draft suitable resolutions upon the retirement from office of Justices Shafer and Dudley, reported that they had prepared resolutions in accordance with the instructions of this Board and present the same herewith for adopted. Upon motion by the Town Clerk seconded by Justice Leeds, the following resolutions were presented and unanimously adopted¢ ViH,'+REAS, Frederick P. Shafer, who has filled the office of Justice of the Peace of the Town of Mamaroneck for eight years, has severed his official connection with this Board by reason of the expiration of his term of office which ended on December 31, 1925; and WHEREAS, during his incumbency he rose to the full measure of his responsibility and discharged the duties of that important office with untiring zeal, marked ability and uniform courtesy, efficiency and thorough- ness ; and IHEREAS, it is deemed fit and proper that a permanent record be made of our appreciation of the good public service rendered by him, vow, therefore be it RJSOLVED® that we, the members of the Town Board of the P YR a . jj -'"'aroneckjew York, express to Justice na er our high appreciation appreciation of the faithful public service rendered by him to this Town between 1918 and 1925, inclusive, and of his good qualities as Justice of the Peace, member of this Board, citizen, neighbor and friend. WHEREAS, George B.Dudley, who has filled the office of Justice of the Peace of the Town of Mamaroneck for eight years has severed his official connection with this Board by reason of the expiration of his terms of office which ended on December 31, 1925; and WHEREAS, during his incumbency he rose to the full measure of his responsibility and discharged the duties of that important office with untiring zeal, marked ability and uniform courtesy, efficiency and thoroughness; and WHEREAS, it is deemed fit and proper that a permanent record be made of our appreciation of the good public service rendered by him, Now, therefore, be it - RESOLVED, that we, the members of the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck, New York -- express to Justice George B®Dudley® our high appreciation, of the faithful public service rendered by him to this Town between 1918 and 1925, inclusive, and of his good qualities as Justice of the Peace, member of this Board, citizen, neighbor and friend. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11 o'clock P.11. to meet on April 27th,1926, at 2 EX. �X Town Clerk.
