HomeMy WebLinkAbout1926_03_06 Town Board Minutes MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD TOWN OF MAMARONECK --- held March 6th,1926. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 2. 20 o'clock P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Collins, Howell & Leeds Town Clerk Sherman. Upon motion duly seconded it was voted to dispense with the reading of minutes of meetings not yet approved. The Board then took up the question of compensation for the paid firemen at the Wedver Street Fire House, and upon motion duly seconded, it was RESOLVED., that the compensation for the fire- men at the Weaver Street Fire House be fixed for Patrick Nolan at the sum of $165. per month and for the three other men at $135. per month same to be effective as of April 1,1926; and that the compensation be increased $5.00 per month each, after one year' s full service. The matter of completion of the Police House was discussed and considered, and upon motion duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that Counsel be and here-by is authorized and directed to prepare an form of bids advertisement, etc - for fur- nishing all labor required in connection with the reconstruction and altering of the Police House as shown on drawings and described in the specifications prepared by Messrs . Eggers & Mink, associate architects, covering the following work-towit: a) plastering- the balance of same as now covered by the contracts heretofore awarded. b) painting- including all old and new cork, exterior and interior. Be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized to publish said advertise@ ment in the Mamaroneck Paragraph and the Daily Times, The matter of the bus hearing was then taken up and upon motion duly seconded, it was RESOLV7D,that this Board hold a public hearing on Friday evening,March 26th,1926, at 8.15 P.M- at the office of the Town Clerk to receive any and all applications for a franchise or franchises in the Town of Mamaroneck to use and operate a motor bus line or lines within and upon the streets and/or highways of the Town of Mamaroneck, which application shall specify substantially the record or records, the equipment to be pro- vided together with the rate of fare and all .................. other terms and conditions thereof; the consider- ation to be paid for said franchise or franchises; further RESOLVED, that all applications to be presented in writing and any applicant duly appearing at said hearing will be heard. --- Upon motion duly seconded, the meeting adjourned at 5 o'clock P.M.
