experience and interest in joining the Board. The Board unanimously approved Diana as a
Board member.
Rick Cherry pointed out that with Dolores’ resignation there was a vacancy in the Secretary’s
position.
There was discussion, to be continued at the next meeting, about the important role that
Dolores Battalia had in the building of Hommocks Houses and how the Board might give
recognition to that.
The Chair reminded members of the need to take the NY State required sexual harassment
training.
Nuno Peres, from Gramatan Management, was unable to be at the meeting. His report had
been circulated to the Board. The Board reviewed the report. The Income Statement vs.
Budget was reviewed by the Treasurer and discussed.
Rick Cherry agreed to review the Application required of families seeking apartments to see
if it can be shortened.
The Board then continued the conversation started at its previous meeting concerning what
steps could be taken to support the development of affordable housing in the Town.
After discussion the Board approved the following resolution:
“There being a need to build a constituency in the Town of Mamaroneck to support the
development of additional affordable housing, the Housing Authority will establish a special
committee to work towards that end, The Affordable Housing Committee will consist of 10-
12 members representing a good cross section of the full community. The first task of the
Committee will be to set forth a plan for achieving this goal and present it to the Board for
approval. It being recognized that part of the plan will include working with the Town Board
to strengthen their support for affordable housing in the community.”
Melissa Kaplan Macey agreed to meet with Rose Noonan to learn what work the Housing
Action Council has done in other communities to build support for affordable housing. All
Board members agreed to think about who they would suggest for Committee membership.

The meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM
