The effective date of the part-time appointment would be January 28, 2019 at an hourly rate of$35 and the full-time appointment would be effective February 19, 2019 at an annual salary of$64,000. The position has been vacant since November 2018 due to a resignation and the funding of such is reflected in the 2019 budget. Ms. Luft would receive a similar benefits package afforded other non-union and management staff. Enclosed for your review is the tentative employment offer letter. Ms. Luft has a Master of Science in Public Administration from the College of Brockport and is currently working for the Administrator in the Village of Ardsley. In her current position she is involved in the daily operations of the Village and serves as the Workers' Comp safety coordinator. While attending graduate school, Ms. Luft also worked as an intern for the City of Batavia. Ms. Luft would handle the administrative duties that pertain to Civil Service administration, Workers' Compensation claims, employee benefits, employee training and compliance with federal and state regulations and reporting. Since an employee classified as an Administrative Intern can only hold the title for a period not to exceed one year, a position will need to be created. A determination will be made as to the appropriate Civil Service position that would best meet the needs of the Administrator's Office. Once a job title has been selected, Ms. Luft will be classified as a provisional employee in that title and will be required to take a test for that position. In order for her to be appointed to the position she will need to attain a score equal to or higher than the third highest ranking eligible on the list. If appointed, she will be required to serve a fifty-two (52) week probationary period.
