MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK,
HELD ON THE 3RD DAY OF APRIL 1982 IN
THE SUPERVIS0R'S OFFICE AT 740 WEST
BOSTON POST ROAD, VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK
Present were the following:
Deputy Supervisor Lee H. Bloom
Councilman Stewart J. McMillan
Councilwoman Caroline Silverstone
Supervisor Leo Goldsmith, Jr. and Councilman Thomas R. Amlicke
were not present at this meeting, the former being ill and the
latter being on vacation.
Town Clerk Dorothy S. Miller was also in attendance.
The meeting was called to order at 10:00 A.M. by Deputy Supervisor
Bloom who noted the meeting was being held pursuant to notice and
stated that the purpose was to approve the joint water improvement
project recommended by John Hock, Manager of the Westchester
Joint Water Works. The Town Clerk apprised the Board of her
discussion with Mr. Hock, noting that there had somehow been a
misunderstanding and these projects before the Board today should
not be treated as the others which were specific to the. Town
and could only be approved following a public hearing and with
the approval of at least four (4) members of the Board.
Thereupon following the Clerk's enumeration of the projects to
be approved, on motion by Councilman McMillan, seconded by
Councilwoman Silverstone, it was unanimously
RESOLVED, that as recommended by the
Westchester Joint Water Works, this Board
hereby approved the following joint
improvements for 1982: Project 82-J.1
Motorized Bypass in Kenilworth Pit at an
estimated cost of $25,000; Project 82-J.2
Installation of 12" Main on Carroll Avenue
estimated cost of $123,000; Project 82-J.3
Installation of a 16" Butterfly Valve on
Fifth Avenue at an estimated cost of $6,500;
and Project 82-J.4 Installation of a 12"
Valve on Garfield Street at an estimated
cost of $3,500 for a total estimated cost
of $158,000 to be allocated percentage wise
among the three municipalities, the Town's
share being 21.6% or $34,128.00.
Thereafter, on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was
declared adjourned at 10:08 A.M.
