The meeting was called to order by Supervisor
Burton at 10.10 P.M.

The minutes of the meetings of December 9th, loth
and 16th, 1925, were read and upon motion approved.
The Clerk presented the following resolution.®
WHEREAS, the members of this Town Board note
with regret and sorrow the death of Dr. John
F. Hunter, a former President of the Board
of Education,Free School District No, 1 of the
Town of Mamaroneck, and a former President
of the Village of Mamaroneck; and
'WHEREAS, we deem it fit to record our high
appreciation of his faithful public service
rendered to the Community for a great number
of years, and his good qualities as a neighbor
and friend; and
WH TE'AS, as President of the Board of Education
and President of the Village of Mamaroneck
he served the people of the Community ably
and well with untiring zeal and devotion to
his duties and rose to the full measure of
his responsibilities and import of public duty
devolving upon him,
NOW, TH+7REFORE, be it
RESOLVED, that we record our feelings of sorrow
for the loss sustained both by the public and
his friends in his death, and extend our
sincere sympathy to the sorely afflicted family;
and be it further
RESOLVED, that these resolutions be entered
upon the minutes of this Board, and a copy
sent to the family of the deceased.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolu-
tions, the same were unanimously adopted by a rising vote.
A communication from the Receiver of Taxes wag
received and read, relating to the appointment of Mrs.
Jennie L, Griffin as Deputy Receiver of Taxes. The
communication was ordered placed on file and is as follows ;

Gentlemen:-
The purpose of this letter is to notify you that, subject
to your approval, I have appointed Mrs. Jennie L. Griffin
Deputy Receiver of Taxes for the period of one year, her
appointment to commence on January 1st, 1926.
I have fixed the amount of her bond at the sun of
$12, 500, and would recommend that the appointment as well as
the amount of the bond be approved by your Honorable Board.

Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the appointment of Mrs,
Jennie L. Griffin as Deputy Receiver
of Taxes, be and the same hereby is
approved, subject to her qualifying
and the securing of the necessary bond.
_ The Captain and members of the Weaver Street Fire
Company were present and took up with the Town Board various
fire matters. The first matter discussed was a requisition
for four dress overcoats for the engineers and one pair of
trousers and two pair of lined driving gloves. Upon motion
duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
RESOLITED, that the purchase of four
dress overcoats for the engineers, one
pair of trousers and two pair of lined
driving gloves, be and the same hereby
is approved and that the cost thereof
be charged against the fire district.
The Captain and Committee then discussed the con-
dition of the apparatus, floor, doors, fire whistle, etc. ,
and various other matters, and upon motion duly seconded,
it was
RESOLVrjD, that the fire matters as pre-
sented by the delegation be referred to
Justices Leeds and Howell to take up
with a Committee from the Fire Company,
and to meet with them for the purpose of
investigating and ascertaining the con-
ditions complained of.
Mr. Thomas B. Sutton appeared before the Board in
relation to the reclassification of Zoning of the property
situated. at Blossom Terrace. After some discussion of the
matter, it was voted that the same be laid over to the
next meeting.

The Board then took up the question of appoint-
ments and salaries and upon motion duly seconded, it was
upon Roll Call
RESOLVED, that the action of the Superviosr
in appointing George McKeand as Clerk to
the Supervisor be and the same hereby is
approved and that his compensation be fixed
at the sum of $2, 500. per year.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that Ralph A. Gamble be and he
hereby is appointed Counsel of the Town
of Mamaroneck and whose term of office
shall be at the pleasure of the Board.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that Salvatore Milone be and
he hereby is appointed Inspector of the
Town of Mamaroneck to perform such duties
in connection with the sewer, road and
sidewalk constructions as the Town Board
may determine from time to time to the
end that the interests of the town may
be safeguarded.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that Henry M.Whitaker and Felix
C. Birch be and they hereby are appointed
Police Commissioners of Mamaroneck, their
appointment to take effect upon their
qualifying as provided by Section 319-A
of the Town Law; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the terms during which said
Commissioners shall hold office shall be
at the pleasure of this Board and that
they shall serve without compensation®
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that Robert H.Stevens, William I.
Palmer and Henry R. Mitchell be and they
hereby are appointed Sewer Commissioners
of Sewer District No. 1 of the Town of
Mamaroneck, their appointment to take
effect upon their qualifying as provided
by Article 11 of the Town Law; and be it
further
RESOLVED, that the term during which said
Commissioners shall hold office shall be
at the pleasure of the Board.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the following town officials
shall be bonded in the following amounts :-
Supervisor 20, 000.00
Town Clerk 11000.00
Receiver of Taxes 20, 000. 00
Supt, of Highways 20000.00
Justices of the Peace 1, 000.00
Overseer of the Poor 1, 000. 00
Constables 1, 000. 00
Sewer Commissioners 10, 000.00
Police Commissioners 10, 000.00
and it is further
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized and directed to
file with the County Clerk of West-
chester County, the bond of the Town
Clerk pursuant to the provisions of
Section 92-A of the Town Law.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor, TownClerk,
Justices of the Peace, Receiver of Taxes
and Overseer of the Poor, be and each
of them hereby is allowed the necessary
expenses for stationary, telephone,
vehicle hire, rent of offices and other
necessary expenses allowed by law and
that the same be made proper town charges.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized and empowered to
pay his own salary and the salaries of
all town officials bi-monthly upon the
filing of duly verified claims therefor.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the salary of the Super-
visor under the provisions of the West-
chester County Tax Law for the ensuing
term be and the same hereby is fixed
at the sum of $3, 000. per year.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the salary of the Town
Clerk be and the same hereby is fixed
for the ensuing term at the sum of
$3, 500. per year.

RESOLVED, that the salary of the Re-
ceiver of Taxes for the ensuing term
be and the same hereby is fixed at
the sum of : 5, 500, per year.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously

RESOLVED, that the salaries of John H.
Murtay, William E. Mulcahy and John F.
Maddock, as members of the Board of
Assessors for the ensuing term be and
the same hereby is fixed at the sum
of $2, 250. each; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board
of Assessors be and he hereby is allowed
the additional sum of $400, per year
by of additional compensation for
the duties which he is required to
perform under the law.
Upon motion July seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the Salary of the Overseer
of the Poor for the ensuing term, be and
the same hereby is fixed at the sum of
$1, 800, per year.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the salary of the Building
Inspector be and the same hereby is fired
at the sum of 12, 250. per year.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the salary of the Inspector
of Construction be and the same hereby is
fixed at the stun of : 2, 040. per year.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the salary of the Janitress
of the Town Hall be and the same hereby is
fixed at the sum of $900. per year.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the rent for Justice Boyd's
quarters be and the same hereby is fixed
at the sum of : 75.00 per month and that
the same be paid by the Supervisor upon
the presertation ofa proper town claim
therefor.

KNOW ALL NLT BY 'THESE PRESENTS, that the Town of
Mamaroneck, a municipal corporation within the County of
Westchester and State of New York, hereby acknowledged
its indebtedness, and for value received, promises to pay
to bearer on the let day of February, 19 the sum of
one thousand ($1, 000.00) dollars together with interest
thereon from the date hereof at the rate of 4 1/2 per centum
per annum payable semi-annually on the 1st days of August
and February in each year upon, presentation and surrender
of the annexed interest coupons as the same respectively
mature; both principal and interest being payable in
lawful money of the United Statesof America. in New York
Exchange, at the Trust Company of Larchmont, Larchmont,N.Y.

This bond is one of an issue of bonds of like date
tenor and denomination except as to date of maturity,
aggregating the sum of forty-eight thousand ($48, 000.00 )
dollars and is issued pursuant to and in strict compliance
with the constitution and statutes of the State of New
York, including Chapter 332 of the laws of the State of
New York of 1925, and pursuant to proceedings of the
Tow,? Board of said Town duly had and taken in all respects
authorizing the same, for the purpose of paying the cost of
acquiring the lands and premises affected by the widening
of Murray Avenue, a highway situated wholly within the
unincorporated portion of said Town of Mamaroneck,N.Y.
This bond may be converted into a registered bond
in accordance with the provisions of the General Municipal
Law. If this bond be registered, the interest hereon
at the request of the registered owner will be remitted
by mail in New York Exchange.
It is hereby certified, recited and declared that
all acts, conditions and things required to exist, to
happen and to be performed precedent to and in the issuance
of this bond, exist, have happened. and have been performed
in due time, form and manner as required by law and that
the issue of bonds of which this is one, together with all
other indebtedness of said Town, is within every debt and
other limit prescribed by the Constitution and Laws of
the State of New York. The full faith, credit and
resources of said Town are hereby irrevocably pledged to the
punctual payment of theprincipal and interest of this bond
according to its terms.

bond for its conversion into a registered bond, I have this
day cut off and destroyed coupons annexed to this bond

in the Daily Times and Mamaroneck Paragraph

Mamaroneck and in the Bond Buyer, a financial
newspaper published in the City of New York,
which newspapers are hereby designated for
that purpose, once, not less than 5 nor more
than 30 days before the date of said sale;

RESOLVED, that said notice be substantially in
the following form:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVMA7, That the Town Board of the
Town of Mamaroneck,N.Y. Yvil receive sealed proposals
at the office of the Town Clerk, #6 Elm Street, in the Town
and Village of Mamaroneck,N.Y. on the 9th day of Eebr-a , 1926
at 8.30 P.M. for the purchase of the following bonds of
said Town, to wit :
Town Highway Bonds of the Town of Mamaroneck,N.Y.
in denominations of $1, 000. each, numbering 1 to 48 inclusive
dated February 1, 1926, bearing interest at the rate of 4 1/2%
per annum payable semi-annually on the 1st days of August
and February in each year, after the date thereof and
maturing in equal annual instalments of $2, 000. each,
the first instalment to be due and payable on February 1,
1930, and annually thereafter until February 1, 1953.
Said bonds will be coupon bonds and may be
converted into registered bonds in accordance with the
provisions of the General Municipal Law.
All bids must be accompanied by a certified check
in the amount of $2, 500, payable to the order of the Town of
Mamaroneck.
The bonds will be sold to the bidder offering to
take them at the highest rate of premium.
The opinion of Messrs. Clay & Dillon attorneys
of 120 Broadway, New York, as to the legality of the
issuance and sale of said bonds, will be furnished to the
successful bidder,
The Town Board reserves the right to reject any
and all bids.

The question of the adoption of the foregoing
resolution was duly put to vote wizich resulted as follows:

The resolutions were thereupon declared unanimously
adopted,
The Supervisor presented the following resolutions
BE IT RESOLVED, that there: be levied and
assessed against the taxable property of
the Town of Mamaroneck, lying outside of
the Villages of Mamaroneck and Larchmont,
and collected, the stun of seven thousand
five hundred ($7, 500 ) dollars, and that
the proceeds thereof be used toward the
maintenance of the Police Department in
said District.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolut-
ion, the same was upon Roll Call unanimously adopted.
Supervisor Burton reported that the Police Cormniss®
ioners have not sufficient funds with which to meet the
pay roll until the 1926 taxes are collected and request
that the Board authorize the issue of a Certificate of
Indebtedness in the sum of seven thousand five hundred
($7, 500.00 ) dollars, the proceeds of which will be sufficient
to meet.� the financial requirements of the Board of Police
Commissioners until the 1926 taxes are collected.
Justice Leeds thereupon offered for adoption the
following resolution: be it
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized and empowered to
borrow upon the faith and credit of the
Town of Mamaroneck, the sum of Seven
thousand five hundred ( 7, 500.00 )dollare
for which sum he shall issue in the name
and under the seal of said Town, in
anticipation of the collection of taxes
levied and assessed for Police purposes
against the taxable property situated
within the unincorporated portion of said
Town of Mamaroneck and which will become
due and payable on April lst, 1926, said
certificate to be sold for not less than
the par value thereof to pay interest
at the rate not to exceed six (6%)
percent per annum and to mature at such
time as the Supervisor may determine and
to be paid from the taxes which will
become due on April lst, 1926 and which
have been levied for Police purposes as
aforesaid; and it is further
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town
Clerk be and they hereby are authorized
and empowered to sign and execute such
papers and instruments as may be necessary
to effect the sale and delivery of such
certificate.
