The meeting was called to order by Supervisor' Burton at 9.15 o' clock P.M. PRESENT : Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Collins and Shafer Town Clerk Sherman Counsellor Gamble A communication from the Howell Park Association was received and read, requesting information regarding the subject of garbage and ashes removal . The communication was ordered received, placed on file and the matter referred to the Clerk for reply. TheClerk again brought to the attention of the Town Board the condition of the motors of the fire alarm system at the '?.eaver Street Fire House and after discussion the matter was again referred. to theSupervisor with the request that he secure the services of an engineer for the ,purpose of ascertaining in said engineer's report the true condition of the entire alarm system and its needs , and that he report his findings to this Board. The Clerk reported having received a communication - from Mr. Forbes , Editor of the Daily Times , calling the attention to the auditing of the claim of the Daily Times for publishing Notices of Registration under the Election Law- in the sum of y89.76, which is $63.12 less than the amount claimed. The Clerk also stated that Mr. Forbes refused to accept a check in full payment of said claim, and requested that the matter be taken up with the Town Board for consider- ation. The Clerk also stated that his attention to the same condition was called by the Editor of the Larchmont Times , the claim of which was also reduced to the same amount. After the matter was discussed ats ome length, in which Mr. Gamble who was also present tookpi"in the dis- cussion, Judge Shafer offered for adoption the following resolution: RESOLVED, that the Notice of Regis- tration which includes a map of the — Town showing the subdivision of the various Election Districts thereof as published in the Daily Times ,Larchmont - Times and Mamaroneck Paragraph, in accordance with the provisions of Section .153 of the Election Law, be and the same hereby is in all respects approved, and be it further RESOLVED, that the claim of the Larch- mont Times and the Daily Times each for $152.88 for publishing the afore- said Notice of Registration in accord- ance with the Section of the above Election Law be and the same hereby are approved, and the Board of Auditors of the Town of Mamaro- neck is hereby authorized and requested to audit said claim accordingly, and be it further RESOL'V'ED, that the Clerk be and he hereby is requested t o f ile with the Board of Auditors a certified copy of this resolution. Justices elect T. Palmer Howell and William D. Leeds submitted requisitions of various forms of station- ary needed in the performance of thier duties, which also included a Civil Docket, a Criminal Docket and Justice=s Manual. Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll Call RESOLVED, that the Town Cleric be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to purchase for the Justices' office, forms and station- ary needed in the performance of their duties as Justices of the Peace, and that the same be made a Town charge. The Justices also requested desks , chairs and a filing cabinet for their offices. The matter was referred to a committee consisting of Justice Shafer and Torn Clerk Sherman to secure -prices of cost and report back to this Board. Upon motion duly seconded it was RESOLVED, that the committee be and they hereby are requested to arrange the securing of Justices quarters and report back to this Board arrange- ments made. The Supervisor reported that it would be necessary at this time to receive bids for the carpentry, masonry, elect- rical work, painting, heating equipment and plumbing and gasfitting for the 'tieaver Street Police Station, and he recommended the advertising for bids of same. Upon Motion duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that Counsel be and he hereby is authorized and directed to prepare an adver- tisement for bids to be received by the Town Board for furnishing materials and performing the labor required in connection with the reconstruction and altering of the Police Headquarters on Edgewood Avenue, as shown on the drawings and described in the specifi- cations prepared by 'Messrs . Mink and Eggers , Associated Architects; separate bids to be received for the following work: (a) Carpentry - including furnishing all labor and material , both rough and finished carpentry, to finish the building in every respect , including hardware. (b) Masonry - including all crock and hollow tile, waterproofing, sheet metal , lathing and plastering, and cement stucco. v 71 (c) Electrical mark - including a complete system of electric wiring and lighting. (d) Painting - including all old and new work, exterior and interior. (e) Heating equipment. (f) Plumbing and gasfitting - including a complete plumbing and sanitary and rain mater drainage system, including all fixtures, mater supplies , etc. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11 :30 o'clock P .M.
