HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984_10_30 Town Board Special Minutes 2 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD ON OCTOBER 30TH 1984, IN THE COUNCIL ROOM OF THE WEAVER STREET FIREHOUSE, WEAVER STREET, TOWN OF MAMARONECK The meeting was called to order by Deputy Supervisor, Caroline Silverstone at 7:30 P.M. Present were the following representing all members of the Board: Supervisor Dolores A. Battalia Deputy Supervisor Caroline Silverstone Councilman Thomas A. Amlicke Councilman Lawrence A. Lerman Also present were the following: Harry DiMao, Town Representative on the Library Board of Trustees Honora Dougherty, Librarian Also present were the following members of the Management Advisory Committee: David Schwarz, Chairman Norman Cannon Robert Wofsey Both Harry DiMao and Honora Dougherty responded to questions asked about the Larchmont Library Budget by Council members. It was noted that the total corrected Library Budget increase is 10.9% of which 9-.8% is the Town's increase after applying surplus. It was also noted that the Town's share of the total Budget is 58% The Board's discussion with the Management Advisory Committee covered the job description of the Town Administrator. It was agreed that the Town Administrator is necessary to the day-to-day management of the Town. The Board members ' job description was also discussed at the same time. During the discussion, suggestions were made to make the Administrator's position more effective and it was also requested that Mr. Altieri write his own job description. The discussion next centered on the Board members' priorities and it was suggested that time be set aside for long-term objectives so that short-term objectives do not take up 100% of the Board members' time and effort. The Committee feels that the Town Board should select certain objectives for the coming year from the list of priorities and assign people to carry out these objectives.
