HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956_07_23 Planning Board Minutes MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD JULY 23, 1956, AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS, 11 EDGEWOOD AVENUE, TOWN OF MAMARO- NECK, NEW YORK. CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:30 p.m. PRESENT: Mr. Fred L. Maggini, Chairman Mr. Henry E. Mullick Mr. G. Norman Blair ABSENT: Mr. Joseph Rigano Mr. John F. O'Conor RE: SOUNDVIEW WOODS, INC. The letter of July 12, 1956, from Mr. Joseph E. Muson, Counsel for Soundview Woods, Inc. , was read to the members present in order to determine the course of action. It was agreed that the preliminary map, with the modification recommended at the July 2nd meeting, would be acceptable to the Board. A revised preliminary plot plan was received from Mr. J. P. Ward, Surveyor for Soundview Woods, Inc. , subject to review by the Town Engineer, Mr. Maurice Friedlander, and our Planning Consultant, Mr. Frederick P. Clark, prior to formal acceptance. Mr. Ward advised the Board that the revised preliminary plot plan is on the basis of 62 lots on approximately 32 acres; that 80% of the lots will contain areas of at least 21, 750 square feet, which is approximately 1/2 acre in size. He confirmed what Mr. Newberg had previously ad- vised the Board, that the houses were to be in the approxi- mate $45, 000 to $65, 000 class; that adequate drainage would be provided for the run-off of the Sheldrake Creek in the event of flooding conditions, without damage to the road or the residences. -63- A The Town Engineer will be instructed to see that the final plot plan makes these provisions in addition to the normal improvements required for plot developments. RE: PLANNING CONSULTANT SERVICES It was agreed that the Chairman write to the following consultants requesting their proposal, price, and other essential information required for the selection of the consultant to study the problem of rezoning in the Town of Mamaroneck. (1) Mr. Frederick P. Clark (2) Mr. George M. Raymond It was further agreed that the Chairman should communicate with the Planning Boards of the Village of Mamaroneck and the Village of Larchmont to solicit their cooperation in de- veloping a uniform zoning plan that would tend toward a co- ordinated development of the three Town and Village areas. RE: VICE CHAIRMAN--PLANNING BOARD A recommendation was made for the selection of a Vice Chairman which will be confirmed at our next regular meeting.
