HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956_07_10 Planning Board Minutes MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD JULY 10, 1956, IN THE TOWN OFFICE, 158 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMRONECK, NEW YORK. CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:30 p.m. PRESENT: Mr. Fred L. Maggini, Chairman Mr. John F. O'Conor Mr. Henry E. Mullick ABSENT: Mr. Joseph Rigano Mr. G. Norman Blair RE: TOWN ZONING ORDINANCE The Chairman stated that he considered it desirable to further consider the matter of the amendment of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town, which had been discussed by the Board at their regular meeting on July 2, 1956, with particular reference to certain petitions for rezon- ing of areas in the northern part of the Town which had been referred to the Planning Board by the Town Board. After discussion with the members present, it was de- cided to make no specific recommendations with regard to rezoning until after the opinion of a consultant on zon- ing or planning is obtained. On motion, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLVED that the following letter be sent to the Town Board to be read at its meeting on July 11, 1956: -61- 1 July the 11 th 1956 Honorable Town Board Town of Mamaroneck Mamaroneck, New York Gentlemen: We met on July 2nd and again on July 10th to consider the petitions referred to our Board by the Town Board regarding the rezoning of the various residential properties in the northern parts of the Town. The conclusion of the Planning Board was that action on the petitions be deferred until the Planning Board has reached a conclusion on the zoning requirements of the Town in general. Therefore, with your approval, we would like to retain the services of a consultant to assist us in the study and preparation of our recommen- dation of possible revision of the entire zoning ordinance.
