HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959_09_09 Planning Board Minutes r MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD SEP- TEMBER 9, 1959, AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS, 11 EDGE WOOD AVENUE, TOWN OF MAMARONECK. CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:30 p. m. PRESENT: Mr. Fred L, Maggini, Chairman Mr. Joseph Rigano Mr. G. Norman Blair Mr. Lee Bloom ABSENT: Mr. Henry E. Mullick ALSO PRESENT: John L. Delius, Town Attorney Maurice Friedlander, Town Engineer and Building Inspector APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the meetings of April 6 and June 1, 1959 were approved as presented. NEW BUSINESS---RUDY NOVAK Mr. Edward P. Tanenbaum, attorney for Rudy Novak, appeared and asked what action the Board had taken on the matter of reviewing the effect of the new zoning ordinance on his client's property. He re- ferred to the brief submitted to the Town Board in June and asked that consideration be given Mr. Novak. Mr. Maggini assured Mr. Tanenbaum that every 231 r consideration would be given the review of this case and that he would be notified of the Board's decision. Following further discussion by the Board, the sec- retary was requested to write Mr. Tanenbaum that it was the feeeling of the Board that Mr. Novak take his case to the Board of Appeals. COMMUNICATIONS 1. ANNE O. SERLING--BLOCK 410, LOTS 163 & 168 A letter from Clark, Gagliardi, Gallagher & Smyth, dated June 29, 1959 and sent to the Town Board, which Board hd referred the matter to the Planning Board was discussed. The secretary was instructed to write the Town Board and request that a Public Hearing be arranged to amend the Zoning Ordinance adopted June 29, 1959, thereby making it possible to con- tinue the zoning of the above captioned property as business. 2. GEORGE E. BALDWIN CO. , Inc. A letter from Meighan & Necarsulmer dated June 29, 1959, sent to the Town Board and referred to this Board for study was read and put on the agenda for the meeting of October 5, 1959. 3. JOSEPH W. GLEICHER CO. , INC. A letter dated June 26, 1959, sent to the Town Board and referred to this Board, was read and discussed. No action was taken. 4. WILLIAM H. FERNSCHILD--ZONING ORDINANCE A letter from William Fernschild dated July 1, 1959, to the Town Board and referred to this Board for reply was read and discussed. The secretary was instructed to write Mr. Fernschild, thanking him for his sug- gestion and stating that they felt the new Zoning Ordi- 232 nance provided for the "Continuing Existing Uses" as stated in Article 441, without further amendment. 5. JOHN W. SHERMAN 6. J. J. DRISCOLL Two letters one from Mr. Sherman and one from Mr. Driscoll were referred to Mr. Bloom with the request that he draft the replies. 7. M. K. BRETZFELDER A letter from Mr. Bretzfelder expressing his appre- ciation of the Board's consideration of radio amateurs was read and the secretary was requested to acknowledge same. 8. LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF LARCHMONT The secretary was also instructed to acknowledge the re- ceipt of a letter from the Larchmont League of Women Voters expressing their appreciation for the excellent job done by the Board in relation to the new Zoning Ord- inance.
