HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959_11_02 Planning Board Minutes i MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD NOVEMBER 2, 1959, AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS, 11 EDGEWOOD AVENUE, TOWN OF MAMARONECK CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:30 p. m. PRESENT: Mr. Fred L, Maggini, Chairman Mr. Joseph Rigano Mr. G. Norman Blair Mr. Lee Bloom ABSENT: Mr. Henry E. Mullick ALSO PRESENT: Maurice Friedlander, Town Engineer and Building Inspector APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the meeting of October 5, 1959, were approved as presented. NEW BUSINESS Jerome N. Wanshel, attorney, representing Protano, Inc. appeared and presented a Preliminary Plan entitled "Pro posed Subdivision of Property belongint to Protano, Inc. " in the Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, N. Y. dated October 28, 1959. After examining the plans and discussing the details with Mr. Friedlander, the Board told Mr. Wanshel that they would study the plans in more detail and advise him what action would be taken. 236 Following further discussion and study the secretary was instructed to write Mr. Wanshel and advise him that when the following conditions had been met it would be in order f®r Protano, Inc. to submit final plans and follow the procedure necessary to arrange for a public hearing: 1. A 50 foot right of way from that portion of the property of E. A. Forbes which extends from the dead-end of York Road to the portion of the proposed road which terminates in Winged Foot Drive shall be reserved a!!!1 excepted from any conveyance of any lot in the subdivision to any individual owner. 2. The applicant shall either complete the construction of the proposed road and connect all proposed sanitary sewers including the proposed sewer in Winged Foot Drive to the existing Town sanitary sewers, at the developer's expense, in accordance with approved final con- struction drawings, or, file a bond in an amount fixed by the Town Board to insure due completion thereof prior tn approval of the final layout and issuance of any building permits pursuant thereto. 3. The applicant shall comply with all of the requirements set forth in the "Requirements for the Approval of Subdivision Plats in the Town of Mamaroneck. " FUTURE PLANNING Some time was then spent in discussing plans for the future. It was decided that at the next regular meeting of the Planning Board, to be held December 7, 1959, a general discussion as to the feasibility of a Master Plan would be held. The secretary was requested to write to the mayors of the Village of Larchmont and the Village of Mamaroneck, the president of the Board of Education and the chairman of the Hommocks Area and the chairman of the Recreation and Park Commissions inviting them to attend this discussion 237 or send a representative. This Master Plan could be developed to recommend land use in the entire Town, including provision for municipal buildings, parks, recreation area, schools and like projects.
