HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959_03_02 Planning Board Minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD MARCH 2, 1959, AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS, 11 EDGEWOOD AVENUE, TOWN OF MAMARONECK. CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:30 p. m. PRESENT: Mr. Fred L. Maggini, Chairman Mr. Joseph Rigano Mr. Henry E. Mullick Mr. G. Norman Blair Mr. Lee Bloom ALSO PRESENT: John L. Delius, Esquire, Town Attorney Peter F. Kane, Councilman Maurice Friedlander, Town Engineer and Building Inspector APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the meeting of February 2, 1959, were approved as presented. PUBLIC HEARING--BRIAR DEL HOMES The secretary presented the affidavit of publication of notice of public hearing as published in the Daily Times on February 25, 1959. The Chairman declared the hearing open and inquired whether any person present wished to be heard. 213 Mr. Harold Blass, representing Briar Del Homes, appeared and explained in detail the plans which had been submitted with this application. Mr. Friedlander stated that the construction drawings which had been submitted were not complete, and did not meet with his approval at this time. Upon ascertaining that no other persons wished to address the Board, on motion made and seconded, it was unanimously RESOLVED that the Public Hearing on Briar Del Homes, be and it hereby is closed. Following further discussion the Board deferred any further action until plans suitable to Mr. Friedlander had been sub- mitted. The secretary was instructed to advise Mr. Blass of the Board's decision. COMMUNICATIONS The secretary read a letter from the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck stating that the Town Board approved the action of the Planning Board amending Section 4. of the Town of Mamaroneck Planning Board "Rules and Regulations. " The secretary also read a letter from the New York State Fed- eration of Official Planning Organizations regarding member- ship in this organization. • After some discussion the secretary was instructed to write and submit the names and addresse$ of the members of this Board as members and ask that the publication of the New York State Federation of Official Planning Organizations be sent to them as it is published. Membership in the Federation is $20. 00 per year. NEW BUSINESS Mr. Bloom pointed out that it would be advisable to also amend Section 11. of the Town of Mamaroneck Planning Board "Rules 214 and Regulations. " Whereupon on motion by Mr. Bloom seconded by Mr. Blair the following resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLVED that the Town of Mamaroneck Planning Board "Rules and Regulations" be amended to read as follows; "Section 11. An affirmative vote of three members present shall constitute an approval by the Board, of any matter put to a vote. " The secretary was instructed to forward a copy of this res- olution the Town of Mamaroneck Town Board for their study and consideration. There followed some discussion as to the advisability of con- sidering recreational facilities in the near future. Mr. Blair stated that he had been approached as to co-operation between this Board and the Village Boards as to future planning and such matters and it was agreed that this was a matter of prime importance and would certainly be given every consider - ation. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before this meeting it was adjourned at 9:45 p. m. Secretary 215
