HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959_02_02 Planning Board Minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD FEBRUARY 2, 1959, AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS, 11 EDGEWOOD AVENUE, TOWN OF MAMARONECK. CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:30 p. m. PRESENT: Mr. Fred Maggini, Chairman Mr. Joseph Rigano Mr. G. Norman Blair Mr. Lee Bloom ABSENT: Mr. Henry Mullick ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Maurice Friedlander, Town Engineer and Building Inspector APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the meeting of January 5, 1959, were approved as presented. MURDOCK WOODS--SECTION THREE Mr. Irwin Oster, 3 Split Tree Road, Scarsdale, representing Murdock Woods, appeared and asked if the Board was going to accept the opinion expressed in the letter dated January 15, 1959 and signed by Mr. Friedlander and Mr. O'Brien Superin- tendent of Highways. 210 Mr. Maggini requested the secretary to read the letter. January 15, 1959 Dear Mr. Maggini: With reference to the installation of lights on "Section 3, Split Tree Road, in Murdock Woods" it is our opinion that two-1, 000 lumen street lights should be installed on this section in order to insure sufficient illumination to prevent traffic hazards. Yours very truly, Maurice Friedlander Town Engineer Frank O'Brien Sup't of Highways Following some discussion the secretary was instructed to write Mr. Oster advising him that the Board concurred with the opinions of Mr. Friedlander and Mr. O'Brien in this matter. QUORUM Mr. Maggini then asked the Board if they did not think it would be advisable to amend Section 4 of the Town of Mamaroneck Planning Board "Rules and Regulations" so that three members of the Board would constitute a quorum. Following some discussion on this matter upon motion by Mr. Blair, seconded by Mr. Rigano the following resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLVED that the Town of Mamaroneck Planning Board "Rules and Regulations" be amended to read as follows; "Section 4. The presence of three members at a meeting shall constitute a quorum. Whenever a quorum is not present at a stated or special meeting, those present may adjourn the meeting to another day or hold the meeting for the purpose of considering such matters as are on the agenda. No action at such a meeting shall be final or 211 official unless and until ratified and confirmed at a subsequent meeting at which a quorum is present by approval of the minutes of that meeting at which a quorum was not present. " The secretary was instructed to write a letter to the Town Board enclosing a copy of the resolution for their consideration and action.
