HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956_03_05 Planning Board Minutes MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD MARCH 5, 1956, AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS, 11 EDGEWOOD AVENUE, TOWN OF MAMARONECK. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:30 p. m. PRESENT: Mr. Morgan J. Burke, Jr. , Chairman Mr. G. Norman Blair Mr. Henry E. Mullick Mr. Fred L. Maggini Mr. Joseph J. Rigano ABSENT: None. Also Present: Building Inspector McEvoy Councilman B. J. Santoro APPROVAL OF MINUTES. On motion duly made and seconded, the minutes of the previous meeting, held February 6, 1956, were approved as presented. COMMUNICATION - PETITION FOR CREATION OF NEW ZONING DISTRICT. A letter was received from Mr. Jerome N. Wanshel, Attorney, dated February 29, 1956, enclosing Petition and Map, requesting the creation of a new zoning dis- trict, namely, AA1. This letter was tabled. RE AMENDING SECTIONS 4 and 11 OF THE RULES & REGULATIONS, OF THE PLANNING BOARD. The matter of amending Sections 4 and 11 of the Rules and Regulations, which was discussed at the previous meeting, was considered. On motion of Mr. Burke, seconded by Mr. Blair, it was unanimously RESOLVED, (subject to approval by the Town Board), that Sections 4 and 11, of the Rules and Regulations, adopted March 7, 1955 by the Town of Mamaroneck -43- Planning Board, and approved March 23, 1955 by the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck, be amended so that the word "four" shall read "three. " The Chairman, in a letter, referred this matter to the Town Board for approval. The Chairman asked Mr. Rigano to confer with Mr. Brown, a member of the staff of Mr. Fred Clark, Planning Consultant, Rye, N. Y. , to discuss matters now pending before this Board. At this Board's invitation, Mr. George M. Raymond, of George M. Raymond Associates, Planning Consultants, New York City, spoke about planning and the functions and services of professional consultants in this respect. The Board requested Mr. Raymond to submit a letter giving further details including in- formation concerning fees. The Chairman discussed the matter of policy with regard to the functions of the Planning Board, and it was suggested that this Board meet with the Town Board, and the Town Attorney, to define the duties and the area of its jurisdiction and responsibility.
