HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957_12_02 Planning Board Minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD DECEMBERZ, 1957, AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS, 11 EDGEWOOD AVENUE, TOWN OF MAMARONECK. CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:30 p.m. PRESENT: Mr. Fred L. Maggini, Chairman Mr. Joseph Rigano Mr. John o'Conor Mr. G. Norman Blair Mr. Henry Mullick ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Maurice Friedlander, Building Inspector and Town Engineer Mr. Peter Kane, Councilman Mr. John L. Delius, Town Attorney APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the meetings of September 30, October 7, and November 4, 1957, were approved as presented. PROPOSED SUBDIVISION---BRIAR DEL HOMES, INC. Mr. Harold Blass, attorney, representing Briar Del Homes, Inc. stated that a revocable permit had been granted for a sewer through land owned by the County of Westchester and/or the Westchester County Park Commission. Mr. Friedlander submitted the permit as prepared by the County Park Commission which is to be signed by the Supervisor. 155 The Town Attorney then stated that the Town Board had approved this arrangement and was willing to accept the sewer on this basis when completed in accordance with the construction drawings and specifications as approved by the Planning Board on October 7,1957. Following further discussion by the Board upon motion by Mr. Rigano, seconded by Mr. O'Conor, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLVED that the resolution adopted on October 7, 1957, con- ditionally approving the map entitled "Subdivision Map of Briar Del Homes, Inc., Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, N. Y. made by Thomas J. McEvoy, N. Y. License #21387, dated Sept. 14, 1957, County Block 3697, Sheet 36", is hereby modified and amend- ed so as to provide that said subdivision map is hereby approved subject only to conditions contained in the previous resolution with regard to cession deeds for street requirements, sewer and water easements, including a 50 foot easement from Briar Dell Circle southerly to the lands of the Westchester County Park Commission, Cross County Parkway property as more particularly shown on construction drawings, and a 10 foot sewer easement through lot#5 as shown on said construction plans, such easements to be contained in instruments meeting the approval of the Town Attorney. PROPOSED SUBDIVISION---MURDOCK WOODS SECTION 4 Mr. Irwin Oster, 3 Split Tree Road, Scarsdale appeared and pre- sented Preliminary Plans to the Board for the proposed subdivi- sion Murdock Woods, Section 4, showing frontage of building plots. After reviewing the plans the Board advised Mr. Oster to prepare final plans and to follow the necessary procedure to obtain a de- cision on the proposed subdivision. COMMUNICATIONS---GLEN ROCK ESTATES RE: COUNTRY RO#b A letter was received from the Town Engineer, regarding Country Road, the letter was discussed by the Board and the Secretary was instructed to file it. 156 COMMUNICATIONS---VILLAGE OF LARCHMONT RE: PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE The Secretary read a letter from Mayor Coffinberry, Larchmont, pertaining to zoning and sign ordinances, suggesting that repre- sentatives of the Village and Town meet to discuss this matter. The Secretary was instructed to acknowledge the letter and ad- vise Mr. Coffinberry that Mr. Friedlander would communicate with him in the near future. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the meeting it was adjourned at 10:00 p.m. to reconvene on January 6, 1958. Pti-tif ti Secretary 157
