HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961_05_08 Planning Board Minutes MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK PLANNING BOARD HELD MAY 8, 1961, AT TOWN OF MAMARONECK POLICE HEADQUARTERS, 11 EDGEWOOD AVENUE, TOWN OF MAMAR1 NECK. C ALL TO ORDER The chairman called the meeting to order at 6.45 p.m. PRESENT: Fred L. Maggini, Chairman Joseph Rigano Lee Bloom D. B. Follansbee ABSENT: G. Norman Blair ALSO PRESENT: Fred Kellogg, Town Engineer Councilman Christine Helwig GIRL SCOUT HOUSE The Board members viewed the Girl Scout House and the plans for the proposed extension to same. A letter from Peter G. Moore, architect, stating the reasons why additional off-street parking facilities had not been provided was read. This letter is on file with the secretary of the Planning Board. Following further discussion, on motion by Mr. Bloom, seconded by Mr. Follansbee the following resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLVED that the Town of Mamaroneck Planning Board is in agreement with the plans as presented for the addition to the Girl Scout House. 306 411111111 The secretary was instructed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Town Board together with the suggestion that the Girl Scout Organization notify the police when there will be an excessive number of cars parked at the Girl Scout House or on days when traffic will be exceptionally heavy. NEW BUSINESS---ROBINS NEST BOND Mr. Kellogg, town engineer, asked the Board to consider the Bond on a subdivision known as Robins Nest. He stated that most of the work in this subdivision had been completed to his satisfaction and he would recommend that the amount of the performance bond be reduced to $500.00. Following some discussion on motion by Mr. Bloom, seconded by Mr. Follansbee, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: WHEREAS, on May 2, 1960 a public hearing was held on a subdivision known as Robins Nest; and WHEREAS, at that time a resolution was adopted by this Board setting a performance bond for the construction of roads, etc. in the amount of $19, 195.00; and WHEREAS, this bond was reduced to $8,200.00 by resolution of this Board on August 1, 1960 and WHEREAS, more of the construction work has been completed in a manner satisfactory to the Town Engineer NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Board, pursuant to Section 277 of the Town Law, hereby reduces the amount of the performance bond to $500.00 OLD BUSINESS Mrs. Helwig, councilman, then asked if the Board had reached any definite conclusions about the matters L.. 307 referred to in the letter from the Westchester County De- partment of Planning. Mr. Maggini stated that he and the Board members would like more time to study these matters before making a report to the Town Board.
