MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING
BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD SEPT.
11, 1961, IN THE OFFICE OF THE TOWN ASSESSOR, 158
W. POST ROAD, MAMARONECK.
CALL TO ORDER
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:15 p.m.
PRESENT: Fred L. Maggini, chairman
G. Norman Blair
Lee Bloom
D. B. Follansbee
ALSO PRESENT: Fred F. Kellogg, Town En gineer
ABSENT: Joseph Rigano
NEW BUSINESS---NARDY BUILDERS
The secretary read a letter from the Town Board of
the Town of Mamaroneck referring the re-zoning of a
piece of property lying west of Weaver Street between
the rear lot line of houses facing Palmer Avenue and
the railroad right of way.
Mr. Edwin M. Freeman, attorney for Nardy Builders,
appeared and stated that his clients felt the the R-15
zoning now in effect was too severe.
Mr. Freeman pointed out that this property borders on
the railroad and the Thruway and suggested that the property
be re-zoned R-6.
Mr. Bloom asked if the residents facing Palmer Avenue
had been approached about this matter and Mr. Freeman
stated that they had not.
Robert B. White, Esquire, president of the Howell Park

and Charles McCarthy a member of the Association told the
Board that the Association has not had time to consider
this proposal. They also added that their presence at the
meeting did not mean that they approved or disapproved.
Mr. Maggini said that he felt the development should
be re-studied and resubmitted, he also indicated that the
Board would not favor any zoning less than R-10.
Following some further discussion it was agreed that
Nardy Builders would discuss the matter at greater length
with the Town Engineer and be prepared to attend the next
meeting of the Planning Board which will be held on
October 2, 1961.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before this
meeting it was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
