HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984_03_15 Town Board Regular Minutes 07' MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK HELD ON THE 15TH DAY OF MARCH 1984, IN THE MAMARONECK TOWN CENTER, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK III The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Battalia at 8:10 A.M. Present were the following: Supervisor Dolores A. Battalia Councilman Thomas R. Amlicke Councilwoman Caroline Silverstone Councilman Lawrence A. Lerman Absent: Councilman Lee H. Bloom Also present were: Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator Steven M. Silverberg, Counsel On motion by Councilwoman Silverstone, seconded by Councilman Amlicke, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that this Board hereby adjourns into Executive Session to discuss matters III of personnel. The Police was in attendance to discuss with the Town Board matters concerning Police Department personnel. As there were no further matters of personnel to come before the Board, on motion by Councilman Lerman, seconded by Councilman Amlicke, the Executive Session was adjourned. Councilman Amlicke brought up the problems of personnel in the Sanitation Commission which he wanted to discuss. It was decided that the Board would convene an Executive Session at 7:30 P.M. on March 21, 1984 to discuss this matter. Councilman Amlicke also brought up the resolution of recognition that he would take to present at the Eagle Scout Award meeting. On motion by Councilman Amlicke and seconded by Councilwoman Silverstone, the following resolution of tribute was unanimously adopted: -1- I 073 TRIBUTE TO DAVID E. GROSS WHEREAS, David E. Gross is a member of Troop 5 of the Mamaroneck Boy Scouts and has participated in many Scouting activities and programs; and WHEREAS, with the assistance of other Scouts, organized by him, David E. Gross restored the marsh in the Sheldrake Conservation Area by constructing check dams along the stream to control said erosion and hold back the water; and WHEREAS, that project slowed down water run-off and allowed water to pond up and seep into the ground sustaining marsh vegetation and providing water habitats for various wildlife in the area; Now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck unanimously agrees that said project is worthy of the fulfillment of the Eagle Scout service require- ment, is of great value to the Town, and is important to the preservation of the Sheldrake Conservation Area; and it is further RESOLVED, that this Board hereby congratulates David E. Gross for his outstanding achievement in attaining the rank of Eagle Scout -- the highest award in Scouting -- and extends to him its very best wishes for everything good in the future. The Board discussed the Larchmont Reservoir property and the question of the taxes levied on that property by the Town. There being no further business to come before this Board, on motion by Councilman Lerman, seconded by Councilwoman Silverstone, the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 A.M.
