Meeting of the Town Board
TOWN OF MAMARONECK,
held November lgth, 1924.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton
at 9.00 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer,
Town Clerk Sherman.
Upon motion it was voted to dispense with the reading
of minutes of meetings not yet approved.
A communication from the Weaver Street Fire Company
was received and read in reply to the communication sent by the
Board pertaining to fire matters.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was
VOTED, that the regular order of business
be Suspended in order that the delegation
of fireman present might be heard.
Captain Nichols addressed the Board and stated that the
fireman were present to take up the matters published in an article
of the local papers.
After a general and full discussion of the matters, the
majority of those present participating therein, the following
---- resolution was presented by Justice Dudley, seconded by Justice
Shafer:
RESOLVED, that this Board go on record
that the communication of November 12th
last sent to the Weaver Street Fire Co. ,
by this Board, be considered in no sense
a reprimand to the officers of the com-
pany as to unnecessary expenditures on
the part of the officers but was for the
expressed purpose of having proper re-
quisition made for supplies and repairs,
in the future.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
the same was declared adopted.
In accordance with the foregoing resolution, the Clerk
was requested to furnish the fire company with requisition blanks
in duplicate form.
Matters pertaining to the installation of the fire
- - whistle were then discussed and upon motion duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he
-- hereby is authorized and empowered to
send to Mr.Charles Whalen a registered
letter notifying him to complete the
work of installing the fire whistle at
once.

The report of the Receiver of Taxes for the month
of October, 1924, was received, read, ordered placed on file
and is as follows:
November 6th, 1924.

for the month of October, 1924, which is as follows:

Two communication from the Board of Appeals were
received and read stating that at their meetings of October
30 and November 13th the following appeal cases were acted
upon and the decisions of the Building Commission reversed.
Application of P.J.Fogarty to erect a one car garage on the
south side of Rockland Avenue about 200 feet west of Forest
Avenue within the 75 foot set back.
Application of Frank Corey to erect a one family residence
-- on the south east corner of Valley and Rockingstone Avenue
within the 30 foot set back.
Application of Frank Gironda to alter a shed on the south
side of Myrtle Avenue about 200 feet east of Chatsworth Ave
into a two car garage in excess of the 25% of the assessed
valuation.
Application of the Harimo Corporation to erect a one family
residence on the south east corner of Kenmare Road and
Harmony Drive within 30 feet of Harmony Drive.
Application of the Harimo Corporation to erect a one family
residence on the south west corner of Kenmare Road and
Harmony Drive within 30feet of Kenmare Read.
Whereupon the following resolutions were offered
and the question being taken thereon, were declared adopted:
WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals has
recommended to the Town Board that the
application of Frank Corey to erect a
one family residence on the southeast
corner of Valley Road and Rockingstone
Avenue within the 30foot set back, be
granted and the decision of the Build-
ing Commission be reversed, provided
that no part of the house shall be
nearer than 30 feet to Rockingstone Ave
and 15 feet to Valley Road, therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board pursuant
to Article5, Section 26 of the Town Law,
hereby consents to and confirms the action
of the Board of Appeals in reversing the
decision of the Building Commission.

WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals has recommended
to the Town Board that the application of P.
J.Fogarty to erect a one car garage on the
south side of Rockland Avenue about 200 feet
west of Forest Avenue within the 75 foot set
back, be granted and the decision of the
Building Commission be reversed, provided
that no part of said garage shall be nearer
than 50 feet to the street line at any point,
therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board pursuant to
Article 5, Section 26 of the Town Law, hereby
consents to and confirms the action of the
Board of Appeals in reversing the decision of
the Building Commission.

RESOLVED, that the Board of Appeals recommend
to the Town Board that the application of G.C.
Merritt to erect a one family residence and a
one car garage on the north side of
Myrtle Avenue about 290 feet west of
Weaver Street within the 30 feet and
75 feet setback, be granted and that
the decision of the Building Commission
be reversed, provided that no part of
said building be nearer than 20 feet to
Myrtle Avenue and that the rear end of
the garage be no Inore than 3 feet from JOm
the rear line of said lot, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board pursuant
to Article 5, Section 26 of the Town Law,
hereby consents to and confirms the action
of the Board of Appeals in reversing the
decision of the Building Commission.

WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals have recommended
to the Town Board that the application of the
Harimo Corporation to erect a one family res-
idence on the southwest corner of Kenmare Rd
and Harmony Drive within 30 feet of Kerrmare
Road, be granted and the decision of the
Building Commission be reversed, provided that
no part of said building be nearer than 25 feet
to either Harmony Drive or Devon Road, there-
fore be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board pursuant to
Article 5, Section 26 of the Town Law, hereby
consents to and confirms the action of the
Board of Appeals in reversing the decision of
the Building Commission.

WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals has recommended
to the Town Board that the application of the
Harimo Corporation to erect a one family res-
idence on the southeast corner of Kenmare Rd
and Harmony Drive within 30 feet of Harmony
Drive, be granted and that the decision of
the Building Commission be reversed, provided
that no part of said building be nearer than
30 feet to Kenmare Road or nearer than ZS feet
to Harmony Drive, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board pursuant to
Article 5, Section 26 of the Town Law,hereby
consents to and confirms the action of the
Board of Appeals in reversing the decision of
the Building Commission.

WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals has recommended
to the Town Board that the application of
Frank Gironde, to alter a shed on the south
side of Myrtle Avenue about 200 feet east of
Chatsworth Avenue into a two car garage in
excess of the assessed valuation, be granted
and that the decision of the Building Comm-
ission be reversed, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board pursuant to
Article 5, Section 26 of the Town Law, hereby
consents to and confirms the action of the
Board of Appeals in reversing the decision
of the Building Commission.

A communication from the Harimo Corporation was
rectived and read, requesting the rezoning of certain prop-
erty in their new Harimo subdivision. The matter was discussed
end at the suggestion of Counsellor Gamble, it was voted that
the same be referred back to the Board of Appeals for their
consideration and recommendation.
A communication from the Village of Larchmont was
rec6ived and read relating to the Town sharing the expense
of the litigation affecting the rate case of the New York,
-- New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company. The matter was re-
ferred to the Supervisor to investigate and report back to the
Board.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 11.15 P.%
