HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960_06_13 Planning Board Minutes • MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK HELD JUNE 13, 1960, IN THE OFFICE OF THE TOWN ASSESSOR, 158 West POST ROAD, TOWN OF MAMARONECK. CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:15 p. m. PRESENT: Fred L. Maggini, Chairman Joseph Rigano G. Norman Blair Lee Bloom Dudley B. Follansbee ALSO PRESENT; John L. Delius, Town Attorney • Maurice Friedlander, Town Engineer MINUTES The minutes of the meeting of May 2, 1960 were approved as presented. PUBLIC HEARING ---MURDOCK WOODS, SECTION 5 The secretary presented the affidavit of publication of notice of public hearing as published in the Daily Times on June 7, 1960. The Chairman declared the hearing open and inquired whether any person present wished to be heard. Meyer B. Goldstein, secretary of Stanart Development Co. , Inc. and Mansol Developers, Inc. appeared and presented plans and construction drawings of Murdock Woods, Section 5 subdivision. 260 The Board examined the plans and a lengthy discussion • followed regarding the proposed relocation of the brook which is on the property of Jerrold Robinson. Mr. Blair inquired as to who would maintain the pumping station which is shown on the plan. Following further discussion on advice of the Town Attorney, Mr. Delius, the Board decided to reserve decision on the subdivision until further study could be made by the 1 t Board and the Town Engineer. OLD BUSINESS--ROBINS NEST Mr. Joseph Greenstein, president of Jody Dwellings, Inc. , developers of Robins Nest Subdivision appeared and requested permission to only partially pave Shadow Lane. The Board examined the plan he submitted and also dis- cussed the installation of a drain. Following this discussion on motion by Mr. Bloom, seconded by Mr. Maggini the following resolution was unani- • mously adopted. WHEREAS, the application of Jody Dwellings, Inc. , Joseph Greenstein, president, for a subdivision known as Robins Nest and located in Block 501, Parcel 125 on the Tax Assessment Map of the Town of Mamaroneck was approved at a meeting of the Planning Board on May 2, 1960, subject to the following conditions: 1. Applicant must obtain permission to connect Lot 5 to the New Rochelle sewer in Shadow Lane and furnish proof thereof. 2. Applicant must finish construction of road and appurtenances to east end of Shadow Lane as shown on map filed with this application. and WHEREAS, Mr. Joseph Greenstein has requested the Board to re-examine his plans NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the resolution adopted by the Planning Board on May 2, 1960, be amended to read as follows: 261 r � 1. Applicant must obtain permission to connect Lot 5 to the New Rochelle sewer in Shadow Lane and furnish proof thereof. Z. Applicant must finish construction of road and appurtenance to a point 35 feet distant west of the east end of Shadow Lane as shown on map filed with application. 3. Applicant shall install standard catch basin on the west side of Harrison Drive including 12, inch reinforced concrete pipe connection to existing catch basin on the north east corner of Shadow Lane and Harrison Drive as shown on plan. CHARLES A. NEWBERGH--SOUNDVIEW WOODS Mr. Charles A. Newbergh appeared and stated that he had started to build roads and curbs in the development known as Larchmont Hills and would like the Board's per- mission to change the location of the road. He pointed out that by changing the road he could save a great deal of money and time. Mr. Maggini inquired as to whether or not this would change the size of any of the lots in the subdivision. Mr. Newbergh answered in the affirmative. Following a lengthy discussion, Mr. Newbergh was advised to file an amended map with the proposed changes for the filed map. When he has done this the Planning Board will study these changes and arrange for a public hearing as soon as possible.
