HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961_02_06 Planning Board Minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK HELD FEBRUARY 6, 1961, IN THE OFFICE OF THE TOWN ASSESSOR, 158 WEST POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK. CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:15 p. m. PRESENT: Fred L. Maggini, chairman Joseph Rigano G. Norman Blair Lee Bloom D. B. Follansbee ALSO PRESENT: Fred Kellogg, Town Engineer Councilman Peter Kane C PRELIMINARY PLAN---WINGED FOOT ESTATES Mr. Sam Paonessa and Mr. Anthony Vileno, representing Winged Foot Estate appeared and submitted a Preliminary Plan entitled "Proposed Revision #1 to Preliminary Layout of Winged Foot Estates, Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, New York, " dated January 27, 1961. The Board members examined the plans and asked certain questions of Mr. Paonessa and Mr. Vileno and also the Town Engineer. It was agreed that the developers may locate the pavement off center of the right of way, but curbs shall be not less than six feet from property lines. This non-symetry shall be from the existing Winged Foot Drive pavement to Lot #2. Following further discussion Mr. Paonessa and Mr. Vileno were told to proceed with the preparation of a final layout of Plat and detailed construction drawings which are to be submitted to the Town Engineer within two weeks, and following receipt thereof, f and incorporation of Town Engineers comments notice of a public 289 NIMMMNMNMIMEMMMNmMiiini hearing to be held on March 6, 1961 is to be advertised. Mr. Maggini instructed the secretary to advise Briar Del Homes No. 2 Corporation, owner of Winged Foot Estate, of these conditions. NEW BUSINESS--JOHN J. SACK Mr. John J. Sack, 44 Mayhew Avenue, Larchmont, appeared and statedthat due to the new Zoning Ordinance the Alden House Apartment is non-conforming. He further stated that he wishes to rent to a professional man for office and non-residential use and not to be able to do so is working a hardship on him. Mr. Maggini pointed out that this is presently not a permitted use and Mr. Sack should have stated his case at the Public Hearing on the new Zoning Ordinance. Following some further talk the Board agreed to investigate the matter and determine the status of the Alden House in 1922 and 1934. DANNY AMATUZZO Mr. Danny Amatuzzo appeared and said that he is planning to build a house at the east end of Blossom Terrace. He asked the Board what the Zoning status of this property is at the present time. Mr. Amatuzzo was advised to wait until he was ready to build and then submit his question to the Board of Appeals.
