On motion by Councilwoman Silverstone, seconded by Councilman
McGarr, it was unanimously
RESOLVED, that the Public Hearing
be, and hereby is declared open.
The Town Clerk presented for the record the Affidavits of
Publication and Posting of the Notice of Hearing.
The Supervisor informed the Board that she had been contacted,
earlier this evening, by Hr. Hesel who told her that the Howell
Park Association wished to withdraw their request for one-way
traffic on Howell since it appears that closing of the Weaver
Street Bridge had reduced traffic significantly and its reopening
has not caused any major increase. Supervisor Battalia noted that
while they feel traffic may eventually rear up again, for the
moment they do not want to establish any inconvenience to the
neighborhood.
Following some discussion by the Board, the Supervisor then asked
if anyone wished to address the Board either in favor or against
the proposal or the withdrawal of such. There being no one who
wished to speak, on motion by Councilwoman Price, seconded by
Councilman McGarr, the meeting was unanimously declared closed.
At this time, on motion by Councilwoman Silverstone, seconded by
Councilman McGarr, it was unanimously
RESOLVED, that this Board hereby
rejects the proposal to establish
one-way traffic on Howell Avenue
between Hawthorne Road and Weaver
Street.

Following explanation by the Administrator in the absence of
Councilman Chapin, liaison of the Traffic Committee, Supervisor
