HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989_01_14 Town Board Regular Minutes 328 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEE'T'ING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK HELD ON THE 14TH DAY OF JANUARY 1989 IN CONFERENCE ROOM A AT THE TOWN CENTER, 740 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK CONVENE SPECIAL MEETING Supervisor Battalia called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m. Present were the following members of the Board: Supervisor Dolores A. Battalia Councilwoman Caroline Silverstone Councilman Stephen C. Chapin Councilwoman Elaine Price Councilman, John McGarr Also present were: Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator The Supervisor indicated that the purpose of the meeting was to continue preparation of the Town's strategic plan. 1. The Board reviewed the proposed policy and tasks for recreation within the community. A variety of revisions were discussed, which would be incorporated into a final draft for review within the following two weeks. 2. The land-use and development policy was discussed, with emphasis on policies to maintain the character of the community, its open spaces, and allowance for certain control development which will provide further rateables for the Town in order to allow a reasonable property tax burden to be placed upon its residents. 3. The essential services policy, including the importance of each service, was discussed by Board members with the goal being to establish an overall priority list. The Board prepared a preliminary draft of the policy and each member will now review it for further revision. 4. The Board determined that a separate fiscal policy would be prepared for financing Town services and that it would include tasks and goals relative to budgeting. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was unanimously declared adjourned at 11:30 a.m. Respectfully submitted, Patricia A. DiCioccio Town Clerk
