HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988_07_13 Town Board Special Minutes 163 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD AND BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD ON THE 13TH DAY OF JULY 1988 IN CONFERENCE ROOM A, OF THE TOWN CENTER, 740 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK. CONVENE SPECIAL MEETING Supervisor Battalia called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. Present were the following members of the Board: Supervisor Dolores A. Battalia Councilwoman Caroline Silverstone Councilman Stephen C. Chapin Councilwoman Elaine Price Councilman Henry Korn Also present were: Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator Richard Tortorella, Fire Chief William McDermott, Deputy Fire Chief Peter Perciasepe, Fire Council The Supervisor indicated that the Board was meeting this evening as the Board of Fire Commissioners for the purpose of discussing the Fire Department capital budget. A discussion ensued concerning the request of the Fire Department for the purchase of a mini-attack pumper. Both the Chief and Deputy Chief reviewed the condition of the mini-attack vehicle currently being used and the specifications of the proposed vehicle. The Supervisor suggested that the purchase of this vehicle may qualify for certain State funding, after which the Board decided that this purchase should not be made this year, and instructed the Town Administrator and Fire Chiefs to arrange a meeting with State representatives to discuss funding for the mini-attack pumper. Further discussion followed on the conditions of other Fire Department apparatus and the schedule of replacement. The Chief referred to a report previously submitted to the Board relating to this matter. There was a final discussion held concerning the Weaver Street Headquarters building, during which time the Chief and Deputy Chief requested that consideration be given to certain repairs and improvements as well as an analysis of its current condition. There being no further business, on motion by Councilman Chapin, seconded by Councilwoman Price, the meeting was unanimously declared adjourned at 9:30 p.m. Town Administrator Stephen V. Altieri
