HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990_02_24 Town Board Regular Minutes 232, M3241T tS OF A SPECIAL HEETIN= OF THE 'DOWN BOARD OF THE 'DOWN OF MAHARCNECK AND THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TASK FORCE HELD ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 1990 IN CONFERENCE ROOM A OF THE TOWN CENTER, 740 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NY CONVENE SPECIAL MEETING Supervisor Silverstone called the meeting to order at 2:40 p.m. Present were the following members of the Board: Supervisor Caroline Silverstone Councilman Stephen Chapin Councilwoman Elaine Price Councilman John McGarr Councilwoman Kathleen Tracy O'Flinn Also present: Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator, and all members of the Affordable Housing Task Force David Bogdanoff distributed to the group a series of alternative schemes for the development of rental housing units on the motel site. A discussion ensued with regard to each of the alternative proposals and financing that would be necessary. The group requested that David Bogdanoff conduct a further analysis of one alternative, which would include a mixture of one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. Councilman Chapin reviewed with the group a report prepared by the Towns Bonding Counsel, Wilkie, Farr and Gallagher, regarding tax-exempt financing alternatives that would be available to the Town government to facilitate construction of affordable housing. Eu g ene Grant made a presentation to the group a congregate care facility as another possible alternative for the motel property, noting that the developer would be required, in addition to congregate care, to develop twenty-two to twenty-five affordable housing units. It was the consensus that to make this financially feasible, the Town may have to offer certain incentives. There being no further business to come before the Board, on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was unanimously declared adjourned at 4:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted i Patricia A.
