HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989_11_07 Town Board Regular Minutes 146 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD ON TUESDAY, THE 7TH DAY OF NOVEMBER 1989 IN THE MAMARONECK TOWN CENTER, 740 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD MAMRONECK, NEW YORK. III CONVENE SPECIAL MEETING The Special Meeting of the Town Board was called to order by Deputy Supervisor Caroline Silverstone at 9:30 a.m. in Conference A. Present were the following members of the Board: Deputy Supervisor Caroline Silverstone Councilman Stephen Chapin Councilwoman Elaine Price Councilman John McGarr Also present were: Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator Carmine A. DeLuca, Comptroller William Zimmermann, Recreation Superintendent Thomas Leddy, Highway Superintendent William Jakubowski, Building Inspector Deputy Supervisor Silverstone indicated that the purpose of this meeting was to review with Department Heads, their budget proposals for the 1990 Town Budget. IIIHighway Superintendent, Tom Leddy, together with the Town Administrator, presented the 1990 Highway Department budget. Members of the Board requested information on repaving and curb replacement plans for 1990, as well as a review of the schedule for street sweeping within the Unincorporated area. The final consensus was that the Administrator would prepare a work plan for the Highway Department, indicating the daily routines of the Department for the delivery of services. I . William Jakubowski, Building Inspector, presented the Building Department budget for 1990, followed by an extensive discussion of current work loads in the Department and the impact that proposed local laws would have on enforcement and inspection capabilities of the Department. Thereafter, it was decided that the current part-time clerical position within this Department be upgraded to a full-time position. William Zimmermann, Recreation Superintendent, presented the budget for 1990 for the Recreation Department, focusing on the new ice rink facility and the expansion of summer programs in conjunction with the recently purchased Monroe Nursery School. A discussion ensued on fees for recreational services. There being no further business to come before the Board, on motion by Councilwoman Price, seconded by Councilman McGarr, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 11:30 a.m. .
