HomeMy WebLinkAbout1923_03_21 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK held March 21st, 1923. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 10.30 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer. Town Clerk Sherman Counsellor Gamble. Upon motion duly seconded, it was VOTED that the minutes of meetings of March 2nd and March 7th, be approved as printed. The report of the Receiver of Taxes for the month of February 1923 was received, read, ordered placed on file and is as follows: TOWN OF MAMARONECK OFFICE OF RECEIVER OF TAXES. March 1st, 1923. McGivney, Receiver of Taxes. The report of the Town Clerk for the month of February 1923, was received, read, ordered placed on file, and is as follows: TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, N.Y. March tenth, 1923. George W. Burton, Esq., Supervisor, Mamaroneck, N.Y. Dear Sir: I beg to submit herewith the report of the Town Clerk for the month of February, showing permits issued and fees col- lected as follows: Dog licenses issued 8 $2.00 Lost tags " 1 .25 Hunting licenses " 7 1.75 Marriage " " 6 6.00 Chattel mortgages filed 31 3. 72 Total amount collected, $13. 72 Respectfully submitted, ( Sgd. ) Frederick M. Sherman, Town Clerk. The Clerk reported the receipt of the renewal of policy covering the Kelly-Springfield truck used by the Town Highway Department. The matter was laid over until the next meeting. A communication from the Orange Screen Company was re- ceived and read, quoting prices on screens for the Weaver Street Fire House. The matter was laid over until the next meeting. Mr. Wagner of the New York Telephone Company appeared before the Board and presented appetition in connection with rebate of penalties and interest on the taxes due in September, 1920. The matter was referred to Counsellor Gamble for his report and findings. Messrs. Eggers and Mink appeared before the Board in relation to matters concerning the new fire district #1 building. In relation to the inscription for panel for Edgewood Road, the following was duly approved to be inscribed thereon: TOWN OF MAMARONECK, NEW YORK. ERECTED 1923. The architect reported receiving bids on the lighting fixtures for the fire district building and submitted sketches. After due consideration it was upon ROLL CALL RESOLVED that the order for fixtures be placed with the R. C. Heather Company at the sum of $750.00 the same appearing to be the most favorable to the Town. Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 12.30 A.M. Frederick M. Sherman Town Clerk.
