A communication from Mr. F. V. Cro-wley was received and read requesting on behalf of Holy Trinity Church of Mamaroneck use of the auditorium of the 71eaver Street Fire House for a Piano Recital on June 29th, 1928. The communication ",'az ordered received, placed on file, and upon motuiong dul;* seconded, it was H3SOL=t that permission be granted to Holy Trinity Church of Mamaroneck use of the auditoriumof the Weav°r Street Fire House , for a Piano Recital on June 29th, 1928. A requisition from Captain Bray of the I.Weaver Street Fire Company was received and read, requesting the purchase of four -- light ` eipght uniforms for the paid firemen. The requisition was ordered received, place; on file and referred to the Fire House Committee with power. A communication from the Weaver Street Fire Company aaas received and read requesting permission to take: the service truck to the annual convention which gill be held at Kingston, Y. Y. from Juice 19th to 23rd, inclusive. The communication was ordered received, placed on file and upon motion, duly seconded, it .ras I IFSOL=t that permission is hereby granted to the Weaver Street Fire Company to take the service truck to the convention which will be 'held at Kingston, N. Y. , from June 19th to 23rd, inolusivep and it v3ras further RT,7,SOL7",4D, that the Fire House Committee Ile and it hereby is empo,4-iered to snake such I. arrangemenits and to attend to any and all details as it may see fit, in order to protect the interest of the Town in all respects®. Captain Bray of the "Weaver Street Fire Company submitted a claim in the suini of 540.00 for Fire Company lumber or material used by the contractor in the alteration of the apparatus floor of the Fire House. The matter eras referred to the Fire House Committee for regprt and recon-mendation. I A communication from Yr.. R. H. Longmaird was received and read relating to the collection of garbage and presenting therewith several suggestions to be embodied in the contract. The communication was ordered receivW, noted in the minutes and placed on file , and the Clark was instructed to advise Mr. Longmaid that his suggestions will be taken under advisement at the prope,tizre. A communication from Mr. Frank V. Farrell was received and read presenting therewith a petition dulysigned for the extension of the existing sewer distract #1 within the Town of Mamaroneck, so as to include a certain portion of Dillon Fars, Attached to said petition was a certificate signed by the Board of Assessorst certifying that the assessed 7aluation of the signers to the petition is $350,600®00 or more than 511 of the total.. The communication together with the petition and cert- ificate were ordered reoeived, placed on file and referred to, Counsel for report and recommendation. Upon the recommendation of Counsel which matter had heretofore been presented to him,. the following, resolution was .presented and upon roll call adopted. THER"AS, a petition has been presented to this Board by Rev. George W. Deakins, a resident of the Town of Mamaroneck, an ordained Minister in the Colored Baptist faith, having been ordained in the year 1875 and being over the age of 76 years, engaged in the work assigned to him by the Church and denomination to which he belongs since 1875 but at the present time not engaged regularly in this work on account of his age and impaired health, and owning the property known as Lot. 9B in Block 70 in Section Rg, on the Assessment Yap of the Town of Mamaroneck, and 'DTI `REAS, the aforesaid has requested in accordance with Subdivision 11 of Section 4 of the Tai: Lae*; or the State of Now Vor& that the aforesaid property be made exempt from taxation to the extent of x$1,500.00; there- fore be it "=OLUD, that the property known as Lot 9B in Block_ 70 Section S, on the Asaeasrent Map of the Torn of Mamaroneck and now awned by George A Deakins , a Minister in the Colored Baptist faith, so long az said 'property shall be held by the aforesaid Deakins or by the widow of the said Deakins whiz she remains such and pile he cr she are actually residents and inhabitants of this State shall be exempt to the emtent of $lp5OQ OO, as provided by law,ehcept that the said property shall be tamable for .pater and lighting purposes only in any mater or lighting districjs now or hereafter established under the provisions of the Town Lawn, further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor, the Receiver of Taxes and the Board of Assessors be and they hereby are authorized, empowered and directed to mark the aforesaid described property exempt to the extent herein provided, further USOLVEDt that nothing herein contained shall ever be construed to exempt said property from taxation when, as and if the conditions herein provided have expired or said property transferred by the said George W. Deskins.. Counsel presented a resolution in relation to the reuue — of the Society of the Few fork Hospital: for exemption from taxation of its property in the Town of ,=amaroneek, known as Section. 91. Block 97, Lots It and 3B. After discussing and considering the matter, the same was referred to the Clerk for further report. Counsel reported to the Board on the proposed form of agreement which the Board of Sewer Commissioners of Sewer District No. l of the Town of Mamaroneck had recommended be entered into between the said Board and the Village of Mamaroneck praviding a reciprocal arrangement between the two municipalities under which each municipality would be allowed to use the trunk line sewers of the other municipality for a portion of the territory in the respect— iae muinicipalitiesa He stated that it would be necessary for the Sewer Commission to extend its sever system into the area in the Town of Mamaroneck north of Grand Street in the Village of Mamaron- eck and that the Village of Mamaroneck was about to extend its sewer system into that portion of the Village known as F, Llc r''s Point and Palmer Hommooks and that the topography;, contour and natural slope and drainage of the ground in said respective dist- ricts is in the direction of the other district and that the Sewer Commission had therefore made an arrangement with the Village of Mamaroneck by which the sewage or effluent of each of the respect- ive districts would flow through the trunk line servers of each _- respective municipality, r3rorided said agreement was approved by the Town Board. Counsel advised the Board that in the opinion of the Commission such an arrangement was for the mutual benefit of both municipalities and would effect considerable saving in cost and otherwise , and that pile the district immediately affected so far as the Town of Mamaroneck was concerned was not within Sewer District No. 1 at the present time , it would be annexed thereto very neon in the natural na.l ourse of events and r f� he havingiega �ru ` ',. present building up of said i-p'rritory® Counsel presented the agreement which had been wrecuted by the Village of Mamaroneck and recommended that the Board of Sewer Co''ii':2issiEoner E be authorized and directed on behalf of the Town of Mamaroneck to execute said agreement.. '.. ifter discussion, upon motion, duly seconded, it was R..F.ri4'OLVEDs that the Town Board of the Town of 'I Mamaroneck hereby appruV'ea of the proposed agreement to be made by the Board of Sewer Com issioners of Sewer District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck for the mutual use _ of the trunk line sewers of the respective mun- icipalities in the manner set forth in said agreement and hereby authorizes and empowers — said Sewer C"oYt;Y!i ssioners of Sewer District No. 4 of the Torn of Mamaroneck to execute and deliver the aforesain agreement with the Village of Ha_aroneuk- upon t?:,a approval of Counsel of said agreement, and the Supervisor and Town Clerk to approve the same on behalf of b?n Town�O4'Fn e'i Mamaroneck. The Clerk presented a, summons and complaint filed with him entitled Robert T. Lantry :against Winged Foot Holding Corp. , Mamaroneck Heights Company, Inc.. , Co C. Lewis & Bros. , Inc. , Gulf Course: Construction Co. , lno,. Supera'iaor Burton reported to the Board that in connection with the amendment of Article III of the Build.ina Code providing for the appointment of a supervising engineer and the approval of the appointment of Hr.. Morton P. Sarfaty that the _ Board had re-ie"rred to him with loi er the matter- of fixing the amount of compensation to be paid Hr. Sarfaty and that he had fixed the amount of compensation to Kr. Sarfaty at $100.00 per week during such period as he might beemplored by the Town and that said sera viiea had commenced and that Said salary was to be paid beginning Itu d let, 1928, and asked the approval of the Town Board of said action, Upon motion, duly seconded, it -was EYSCLVED, that the report of the Supervisor be received and approved and that the action or the Supervisor in fixing the amount of salary to be raid, Hr. HortonP. Sarfaty for his services as Supervising ?a'ng® ineer at the rate of $100.00 per week com- mencing Faye let, 1928 , be and the same hereby is approved and ratified. The Supervisor reported that application had been made to him by John Grennan for appointment to the police forced He further reported that he had investigated the 'matter and recommends that he be appointed for the probationary period commencing Tune 1st, 1928. Upon motion, duly seconded:, it waat upon roll call — RFSCLTED t that the report of the Supervisor in the application of John Grennan for appoint- ment to the polio force , be noted in the minutes, and it ,i'a-s further RESOLVED, the t the recommendation of the Super- visor for the appointment of John Grennan to the police force for the probationary period comet-encing_ Junelst$ 1928, be and the same is ordered ratified and approved.
