Fredston, and carried , the minutes of the meeting of September 6, 1983 were approved as written. Mr. Joseph Dorsey appeared before the Committee in response to a question raised at the September meeting. He explained that he posted "no treaspassing" signs on his property (2 Beach Avenue) because he has acquired title from the State to land under water into the Sound for a distance of 600 feet from his property. It is his under- standing that no one is allowed to drop anchor from boats in this area. Discussion was held on allowing fishing at Dog Beach. Mrs . Curnin noted that the Board of Trustees would have to consider this issue . Mr. Dorsey offered to review this issue with the Committee at a later date . HARBOR MANAGEMENT Mr. Irwin would like to meet with each sub-committee of the Harbor Management Plan to clarify details . The Local Waterfront Revitalization Program is due in Albany on November 1 , but Er. Irwin felt that compilation of all material will take longer. Mr. Irwin felt that some areas were not covered in the material submitted thus far Cand suggested including descriptions of yacht clubs , resources, moorings , and a well-protected harbor. He suggested also adding what COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING 10/4/83 Page 2 policing needs exist and recreational facilities available. Mr. Allen agreed to expand his report. LAND USE AND FLOODING Discussion was held on flooding near the Hommocks and Cedar Island, and the wave height study map. It was the consensus of members that parts of the map are inaccurate. Mr. Lotto suggested including a zoning map showing existing land use with the report. CONSERVATION Mr. Lotto requested that significantly important habitats be added to the material for this project. POLLUTION Mrs . Fredston presented her report. Mrs . Curnin suggested that large apartment storage tanks be pressure tested to determine if any leaks are occurring, and that that she is investigating local laws to see if that topic is covered . Dr. Mason presented his report on the sewer systems , and discussion was held on the treatment of sewage. Mrs . Curnin noted that the Input Study still has not been received from the County. Mrs . Curnin will contact Charles McCaffrey to request a basic map. Mrs. Curnin then read her statement concerning the gathering of local support for this project. NEXT MEETING The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 1983 at 8 p.m. in the Village Room at the Village Center.
