APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Minutes of October 2, 2001 were approved as corrected.
HOMMOCKS SCHOOL P.T.A. PRESENTATION
Mr. Weitzman and the members of the Hommocks School P.T.A. requested the use of the left
sidelines of the Carpino-Steffens Fields during lunch periods at Hommocks School. Mr.
Weitzman passed around photos showing the area the school would like to use. The Field would
be needed for three, eighteen-minute periods each day. The school will station an aide on
boarder to make sure that no students go onto the Fields. The children will use the gate directly
across from the cafeteria door to gain access.
Commissioner Paonessa informed the P.T.A. that the Fields are scheduled to close for
maintenance on November 21st. He then asked if the school would use the sidelines after
November 21st. Mr. Weitzman said they would, as long as the weather permitted, but
understands that the Town would control access.
Mr. Weitzman thanked the Commission and promised to keep the children off the playing fields.

ACTING SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE
1. The Commission unanimously approved co-sponsoring the Toy Drive at Hommocks Park
Ice Rink with the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department
2. Ms. Fisher informed the Commission that the Board of Education has notified the Town
that the Hommocks Pool will close for renovations on December 31, 2001 instead of
November 30, 2001. Ms. Fisher requested the Commission approve extending all pool
passes until December 31, 2001 and the Early Morning Swim Program until December
21, 2001at no additional charge. The Commission unanimously approved both
extensions.
3. Ms. Fisher reported on the budget meeting she attended on Friday, November 9, 2001
with the Town Board. The Board would like to see an increase in camp fees and less
Town subsidy and is concerned with Rink revenue.
Councilman Odierna suggested a two-for-one promotion at the Ice Rink for the coming
holiday season.
CARPINO-STEFFENS FIELDS
The Commission returned to the discussion of the Hommocks School using the Carpino-Steffens
Fields. Some concerns regarding the School using the fields are:
1. Who would decided if it is inclement weather.
2. Who would maintain control of locks.
3. There would be no control over what type of shoes were worn on fields.
Ms. Fisher suggested a different set of rules be established for this section. Commissioner
Druker feels that there would be no way to keep the children from going onto the Fields.
Commissioner Rainaldi suggested the school might consider using the field next to the Ice Rink
path.
Commissioner Druker made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Paonessa to table this request,
due to the impending maintenance program. The Commission unanimously approved this
motion and will consider the request again in the Spring of 2002.
There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by Commissioner
Paonessa and seconded by Commission Druker the meeting was adjourned at 8:35 P.M.
