HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950_09_27 Zoning Board of Appeals Minutes MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS OF THE TOWN OF MAYRONECK, HELD SEPTEMBER 27th, 1950, IN THE BOARD ROOM AT 11 EDGE- WOOD AVENUE, LARCHMONT, N. Y. Mr. Quinn called the meeting to order at 8 P. M. PRESENT: Mr. Quinn, Chairman Mr. Butterfield Mr. Wullschleger Mr. Burke M r. Mink The minutes of the previous meeting, held September 6th, were approved as presented. Thefirst application before the Board was that of Joseph Pittera for modiidation of Article II, Sections 3 and 6 of the Zoning Ordinance to allow the construction of the proposed garage as shown on plan for the purpose of housing 1 private automobile of the occupants of the six family dwelling and to provide 1 bedroom above same for such occupants, on premises 50 feet west from Williams Place on the north side of Lester Place, known on the Tax Assessment Map of the Town of Mamaro- neck as Block 130, Parcel 128. Mr. Pittera appeared before the Board and submitted plans. There was no opposition. The Board discussed the application and ouestioned Mr. Pittera, after wnich he was told he would be informed of the Board' s decision. The Board next considered plans submitted by Spencer Park Development Corp. for multiple garages on premises known as Block 503, Parcel 1 on the Assessment Map. The application for a variance in connection with these garages was before the Board on July 26th and it was granted upon condition that plans and specifications would be submitted to and be approved by this Board before a building permit would be issued. Mr. Stephen C. Lyras and Mr. Peter T. Kikis appeared and submitted plans and sketches. After lengthy discussion, it was decided that new plans would be sub- mitted, showing a 10 foot setback with landscaping : along the rear. 4 There was a suggestion of a parking space instead of garages in the center. The Board took up the application of Mr. Pittera in executive session and upon motion made by Mr. Mink, seconded by Mr. Wullschleger, it was RESOLVED that the application of Joseph Pittera for modification of Article II, Sections 3 and 6 of the Zoning Ordinance to allow the construction of the pro- posed garage as shown on plan, for the purpose of housing 1 private automobile of the occupants of the six family -4- dwelling and to provide 1 bedroom above same for such occupants on premises 50 feet west from Williams Place on the north side of Lester Place, known on the Tax Assessment Map of the Town of Mamaroneck as Block 130, Parcel 128, be and the same hereby is denied upon the ground that the applicant has failed to show unnecessary hardship or practical difficulty in abiding by the pro- visions of tie Ordinance. } A vote taken upon this resulted as follows: AYES: Mr. Quinn Mr. Mink Mr. Burke Mr. Butterfield Mr. Wullschleger NOES: None There being no further business to come before the meeting, it adjourned at 9 P .
