MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS OF THE
TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD APRIL 27, 1955, IN THE ROOM ASSIGNED TO THE
BOARD AT MAMARONECK TOWN POLICE HEADOUARTERS , 11 EDGEWOOD AVENUE, TOWN.
PRESENT: Mr. Wullschleger, Chairman
Mr. Schuler
Mr. Rigano
Mr. Maggini
ABSENT: Mr. Burke
Presence was also noted of Mr. McEvoy, Building Inspector and Mrs .
Barnes, Clerk to the Board and Recording Secretary.
Mr. Wullschleger called the meeting to order at 8 P. M. , and on motion
duly made and seconded, the minutes of the previous meeting, held
March 23rd, were approved as presented .
The first application before the Board was that of Vermilion Building
Corp. , by Donald F. La Sala, President, for modification of Article II ,
Section 7 of the Zoning Ordinance as amended, to permit provisions for
garage space for each apartment as shown on plans for a new apartment
house now being constructed at No. 2 Washington Square, on premises
known on the Tax Assessment Map of the Town of Mamaroneck as Block
133 Parcel 599.
Mr . La Sala appeared in his own behalf and presented a tracing of the
site plan, showing the location of the garage, landscaping, etc .
He said the apartment building will house 73 families and there is
garage space for 48 cars and open parking for 30 cars . He has left
46 feet of open space between his building and the a chmont Hills

Apartment House, which he plans to landscape, andecthinks will
benefit both buildings .
Mr. A. G. Bogardus, 17 Overlook Terrace, and Mr. C . R. Baugh, 2 Lafay-
ette Road, said they are in favor of this application because it will
take cars off the street .
There being no one else who wished to be heard, Mr. Wullschleger de-
clared the hearing closed and the Board went into executive session.
After discussion, on motion duly made and seconded, the following
resolution was unanimously adopted :
WHEREAS, Vermilion Building Corp. , by Donald F. La Sala, Presi-
dent, has appealed to this Board for modification of Article II ,
Section 7 of the Zoning Ordinance as amended, to permit provision for
garage space for each apartment as shown on plans for a new apartment
house now being constructed at No. 2 Washington Square, on premises
known on the Tax Assessment Map of the Town of Mamaroneck as Block
133 Parcel 599 ; and
WHEREAS , it appears that the variance is for the purpose of
constructing garage units for private automobiles owned by occupants
or tenants of an apartment house in the Town of Mamaroneck which is
now in the process of construction; and

WHEREAS , this application has come on duly to be heard by this
Board at its regular meeting, held April 27, 1955; and
WHEREAS, it appears that plans for the construction of such
apartment house,have been approved by the Building Inspector of the
Town of Mamaroneck
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED that the appeal of Vermilion Building Corp. ,
by Donald F. La Sala, President, be and the same
hereby is allowed and he is hereby granted permission
in accordance with Article II , Section 7 of the Zoning
Ordinance as amended, to provide garage space for 48
cars for the exclusive use of occupants or tenants of
the apartment house as shown on plans for a new apartment
house now being constructed on premises known as No. 2
Washington Square, known on the Tax Assessment Map of
the Town of Mamaroneck as Block 133 Parcel 599, in
accordance with plans and specifications on file with
the Building Inspector.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, it
adjourned at 8:45 P . M.
