OF APPEALS OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD
JANUARY 25, 1961, IN THE COURT ROOM OF POLICE HEAD-
QUARTERS, 11 EDGEWOOD AVENUE, TOWN OF MAMARONECK.
CALL TO ORDER
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:00 p. m. •
PRESENT: George Schuler, Acting Chairman
Laurence Sobel
Richard Eggers
ALSO PRESENT: William Paonessa, Building Inspector
John L. Delius, Town Attorney
ABSENT: A. E. Wullschleger, Chairman
Sydney Bierman
MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting of November 23, 1960
were approved as presented.
ANNOUNCEMENT
Before opening the hearing, the Chairman announced
that any person who desired could request that hearing
on his application be postponed to the next meeting since
applications heard when only three members of the Board
were present could be granted only upon unanimous vote.
HEARING
The Chairman declared the hearing open and requested
the secretary to read the first application which, after

presentation of the affidavit of publication of the notice of
hearings in the official newspaper of the Town of Mamaroneck,
the Daily Times, on January 18, 1961 , was read as follows:
APPLICATION NO. 1--WINGED FOOT GOLF CLUB Case 83
Application of Winged Foot Golf Club for modification
of Article IV, Section 410, Schedule of Permitted
Uses in Residence Districts, Section 440. 3, Ex-
tension of Non-Conforming Use and Section 400. 1,
Conformance Required for all Land and Buildings ,
so as to allow a 36 foot by 8 foot extension to
the present kitchen in an R-30 District, on premises
located on the east side of Fenimore Road and
known on the Tax Assessment Map of the Town of
Mamaroneck as Block 347, Parcel 1, on the
ground of practical difficulty and/or unnecessary
hardship.
The Chairman inquired whether anyone present wished to
address the Board either in favor of or in opposition to
this application and the following persons were heard:
For Appellant: David Eggers
5 Locust Avenue, Larchmont
In Opposition: None
Mr. David Eggers, representing Winged Foot Golf Club,
appeared and submitted the application to the Board and
presented plans for their approval.
After considering the matter the members of the Board
agreed that they were all in favor of the application.
At this point, Mr. Delius, Town Attorney, advised the f�
Board that no final action could be taken at this time1 . Q..z, ,
He stated that this case would have to be referred to the Westchester County Department of Planning RD
for their recommendation. He further stated that if
their recommendation indicated that they were opposed
to this application, it could be granted only by unan-
imous vote of the whole Board and the resolution must
state the reasons for such action. The Westchester
County Department of Planning has thirty days to reach
a decision.

Mr. Schuler then instructed the Town Attorney to take all
steps necessary to recommend immediate action on the
part of the Westchester County Planning Department.
COMMUNICATIONS
A letter from Peter G. Moore, 62 Palmer Avenue,
with regard to 65 Palmer Avenue was read by the secretary.
The letter was addressed to Supervisor Burchell.
Since this matter was not officially before the Board the
secretary was instructed to file the letter and the Board
did not take any action at this time.
