APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting of February 8, 1978 were pre-
sented and on motion duly made and seconded, approved as
submitted.
APPLICATION OF BP OIL INC. - GASOLINE FILLING STATION AND GARAGE -
BLOCK 504 PARCELS 101 and 121 - 2515 BOSTON POST ROAD
The Town Board had referred the application of BP Oil Inc.
to the Planning Board for their recommendations. The ap-
plicants were represented by Mr. J. Martirano of 301 North
Avenue, New Rochelle, New York and Mr. Joseph M. Gencarelli ,
who is a District Manager for BP Oil Inc. Mr. Gencarelli
said that the proposed station will be similar to their
station in Mamaroneck.
The applicants stated that the proposed lighting is non-
glaring and is directed downward illuminating the immedi-
ate area without infringing on the surrounding residential
neighborhood. Mr. Gencarelli said that for traffic pur-
poses they feel it is more advantageous to have a sign
which can be read without driving into the station adver-
tising the price of gas. The proposed station will only
sell gas and at present they plan to open from 6 A. M.
to 12 P.M. but this could be changed.
Mrs. Carlson asked since there was a drainage problem across
the street at the car wash would there be any trouble at
the site in question. Mr. Elfreich said in his opinion
there would be no problem.
The Planning Board decided they had no objection to the
plan but recommended that the Town Board allow the proposed
illuminated canopy only on three sides of the building.
(Boston Post Road, westerly side and easterly side) The
Planning Board, also, recommended that the free standing
sign be allowed but not to include advertising any price
of gas. The Secretary was asked to send the report to
the Town Board with the Planning Board recommendations
and those made by Mr. Leddy of the Conservation Department
as marked on the grade and landscape plan.

ing it was adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
