2010-2011 HOMMOCKS PARK ICE RINK ADMISSION & ICE RENTAL FEES:
The Commission had a brief discussion regarding charging the Mamaroneck Youth
Hockey Association the full ice rental rate beginning this fall season.
Since the Association has historically be given a discount for ice rental, Chairman
Druker is concerned that imposing such a great increase in one year will prove to be a
hardship.

2010-2011 HOMMOCKS PARK ICE RINK ADMISSION & ICE RENTAL FEES
CONTINUED:
The Commission agrees but decided to increase the fee, however it may be
reconsidered if the Mamaroneck Youth Hockey Association decides to appeal.
On a motion by Commissioner Morello, seconded by Commissioner Plansky, the
Commission unanimously approved a twenty five cent increase to all daily admission
fees to the Hommocks Park Ice Rink and set the hourly ice rental rate at $400 for all
users.
REQUEST FROM BADGER SWIM CLUB:
The Badger Swim Club has completed their rental period at the Hommocks Pool and
has expressed an interest in continuing next year.
Ms. Fisher recommended that the agreement be extended with a $10 per hour rental
fee increase.
On a motion by Commissioner Plansky, seconded by Commissioner Morello the
Commission unanimously approved the continuation of the agreement with the Badger
Swim Club at an hourly rate of$60.
NOT ON THE AGENDA:
Request From the Mamaroneck School District:
Due to the loss of Memorial Field as it is being renovated this fall, the School District
has requested that, once again this year, the late season maintenance of the Carpino-
Steffens Fields be waived.
Ms. Fisher is concerned that the fields are being overused and are in need of a period
of rest.
Chairman Druker proposed that the late season maintenance be waived this year as an
accommodation and at the conclusion of the season the fields be closed for the
necessary period of rest.
The School District would then have to accommodate the Larchmont Junior School
League and all other users during this closure period.
On a motion by Commissioner Plansky, seconded by Commissioner Paonessa, the
Commission unanimously decided to waive the late summer maintenance for the
Carpino-Steffens Fields at the end of which the fields will then be closed for a prolonged
period of rest.
Hommocks Park Ice Rink Feasibility Study:
Since the Commission has had time to review the Hommocks Park Ice Rink Feasibility
Study, Ms Fisher inquired if they had a preference as to which ice making system
should be pursued.
The industrial system provides for a longer life expectancy, additional storage for both
the rink and camp and provides for a snow melting pit so that the Zamboni doesn't have
to travel outside to dump the ice scrapings.

Hommocks Feasibility Study Continued:
The commercial system is less expensive but in the long run will have to be replaced
sooner.
The Commissioners unanimously endorsed the industrial plan over the less expensive
commercial one with the following resolution.
RESOLVED that the Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Commission fully endorses the
purchase of the industrial system option for upgrades to the Hommocks Park Ice Rink,
as stated in the Hommocks Park Ice Rink Feasibility Study conducted by Ward
Associates and encourages the Town Board to authorize this expense over the less
costly commercial option.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by
Commissioner Plansky, seconded by Commissioner Paonessa the meeting adjourned
at 8:50 P.M.
