PROPOSAL TO ELIMINATE MONDAY PUBLIC SESSIONS AT HOMMOCKS PARK
ICE RINK:
Hommocks Park Ice Rink Manager, Rob Lunde has proposed that the Monday
afternoon public skating sessions (12:30 to 2:30 P.M.) be eliminated due to a lack of
attendance.
The Commission is reluctant to eliminate a session that affords residents a quieter time
to enjoy the rink.
The Commission would like Mr. Lunde to research the possibility of renting this time and
will make a decision at a future meeting based on his findings.
The Commission decided to table this proposal pending the results of Mr. Lunde's
research.
EMAILS FROM RESIDENT JENNY RANSOM:
Ms. Fisher briefed the Commission on several emails she has received from resident
Jenny Ransom. Ms. Ransom has several issues concerning the Hommocks Pool
which include the lack of parking and crowding at the pool.
Ms. Fisher has explained to Ms. Ransom that there is nothing that can be done
regarding the parking issue and that all users are residents (including all campers) and
are entitled to use the pool.
Although the Commission is sympathetic to Ms. Ransom's concerns, they feel that the
existing policies are appropriate, but they are willing to revisit them in the future.
NOT ON THE AGENDA:
Ms. Fisher reported that the Hommocks Co-Op Day Camp has received the necesary
funds to operate this summer and Ms. Fisher will be approving their request to use the
Hommocks Pool.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Ms. Fisher reminded the Commissioners that the August meeting will be held on
Tuesday, August 11th beginning at 6:00 P.M. The place will be announced at a later
date.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by
Commissioner Rainaldi, seconded by Commissioner Paonessa, the meeting adjourned
at 8:10 P.M.
