meeting minutes of April 13, 2010 were unanimously approved as submitted.

SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED:
3. Pool permit renewals will be mailed out the week of May 10th
4. The Hommocks Park Ice Rink will close for the season on Sunday, June 13th
5. A flier was sent on April 19th to all 2009 Hommocks Playground participants
reminding them to register, if they had not done so yet. On April 23rd press
releases were sent to the papers, school newsletters, LMC-TV and the Town
website reminding residents to register before it is too late.
6. The outdoor pools and lawn area are in the process of being prepared for the
summer season. The lawn has been aerated, seeded and fertilized. Fresh
mulch has been installed around the trees and in the planting beds. The facility
will open for the summer season on Saturday, June 19th
7. The Memorial Park Tennis Court Attendant is on duty seven days a week as of
May 1st
8. Capital One Bank of Larchmont has committed to sponsoring the outdoor movie
again this year. They will underwrite the cost of$2,500.
9. The computer hardware at the pool is in the process of being updated in regards
to the procedures when a permit is swiped. The current system is ineffective and
often inoperable. The new system will allow the attendant to see the member's
photo on the screen and even be able to give the expiration date.
The biggest benefit is that we will be able to accurately record real time
attendance rather than our current system of check marks on a piece of paper. It
is our goal to have this equipment installed within the next few months. Total
cost is expected to be under $2,500.
10.John Thompson will not be holding the Men's Ice Breaker Hockey Tournament
due to scheduling conflicts with ice time availability and finances.
11.Joyce Callahan, Larchmont Recreation Director asked if we could accommodate
30 campers in the ice rink on inclement weather days.
Unfortunately, this request had to be denied due to the lack of space and our
own potential increase of enrollment capacity.
12.The fall/winter program fees will be proposed at the June Commission Meeting.
13.As of this date, work has not begun on Memorial Field at Mamaroneck High
School. Therefore, we have not needed to accommodate the additional usage
dates as requested by Athletic Director Bari Suman.
14.The Hommocks Pool re-opened on schedule after the planned spring recess
closure.
15.A new girls hockey league is being formed that will be looking to rent ice at the
Hommocks.
PROPOSED NON RESIDENT FEE FOR CAMP MONROE:
On a motion by Commissioner Plansky, seconded by Commissioner Paonessa, the
Commission unanimously approved the following non-resident fees for Camp Monroe
for 2010.
Rye Neck resident (after May 14th) $680.
Non Residents (after May 14th) $730.
These fees are being adopted due to the lower enrollment.
CHAIRMAN'S UPDATE:
Chairman Druker appointed Commissioner Paonessa a committee of one to investigate
sites for the August meeting. Ms. Fisher has agreed to assist him and they will report
back to the Commission at a later date.
