December 13, 2005

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Druker, at the Hommocks
Park Ice Rink.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
On a motion by Commissioner Rainaldi, seconded by Commissioner Devaney the
meeting minutes of November 8, 2005 were unanimously approved as corrected.
SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE:
Ms. Fisher reported the following:
1. Registration for Session 3 of Skating School began on December 12th and to
date there are 316 participants registered. Session 2 concluded with a total of
400 registered.
2. 165 children are registered in our Youth Hockey Program. The following is a
breakdown by residency:

3. 2005 Tennis Programs have concluded with a total of 519 children and 169
adults registered.
4. Due to the weather conditions on Friday, December 10th , Pizza Bingo as well as
Open Gym was cancelled.
There will be a special Parent/Child Pizza Bingo on January 6th
5. The Carpino-Steffens Fields have been aerated, dormant seeded and fertilized.
The fields are now closed for the season.

SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED:
6. Invoices have been forwarded to the Mamaroneck Board of Education and the
Larchmont Junior Soccer League in the amount of$7,283 for reimbursement of
one-third of the Carpino-Steffens Fields maintenance costs. Mr. Ings has already
sent a check on behalf of the Larchmont Junior Soccer League.
7. The Mamaroneck Youth Hockey Association has a total registration of 170 this
year. 11 are non residents and an invoice for $1,650 has been forwarded to
M.Y.H.A. for these non residents.
8. The Hommocks Park Ice Rink web page is currently in a draft phase. Video will
be recorded and photos taken shortly to add to the text. The Recreation
Commission and the Town Board will review a draft before it is activated.
9. Changes to the Hommocks Pool renovation project have used up most of the
$600,000 contingency fund.
The extra time that was built into the timetable for unforeseen problems has
already been used.
Ms. Fisher will recommend to Administrator Altieri that when the final cost is
known re: the locker room renovations, that a meeting between the Town Board
and the Recreation Commission be arranged.
10. The invoice for 2004-2005 expenses for the Hommocks Pool has been received
The amount due is $228,876 to be paid in January of 2006. The 2003-2004 pool
expenses were $210,000.
11. The Annual Trip to see the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show was not a
success. Unfortunately, due to the many circumstances out of our control, the
bus was unable to arrive for the show on time due to the tree lighting ceremony.
All participants were granted a full refund.
12. The Department might be looking for a new site for all of our golf programs. The
County has awarded operation of Saxon Woods Golf Course to a private
contractor.
Commissioner Paonessa suggested that Bonnie Briar Golf Club might be able to
accommodate the Town's golf programs.
ADOPTION OF RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING DATES FOR 2006:
On a motion by Commissioner Paonessa, seconded by Commissioner Rainaldi the
Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Commission unanimously adopted the following
meeting dates.
January 10th
February 14th
March 14th
April 11 to
May 9th
June 13th
July 11th
August 1st (camp evaluation meeting)
September 12th
October 17th
November 14th
December 12th
All meetings will begin at 7:30 P.M. in Conference Room "A" of the Mamaroneck Town
Center, 740 West Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck with the exception of August 1st,
place and time is to be determined.
Chairman Druker suggested that the December meeting be held at the Hommocks Park
Ice Rink. The Commission unanimously agreed.

TOUR OF HOMMOCKS PARK ICE RINK:
Ms. Fisher conducted a brief tour of the improvements made at the Hommocks Park Ice
Rink.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by
Commissioner Paonessa, seconded by Commissioner Devaney, the meeting adjourned
at 8:10 P.M.
