ACCEPTANCE OF MEETING MINUTES: Due to the lack of a quorum, the meeting minutes of April 17, 2012 were not approved and were tabled until the June meeting. SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE: Ms. Fisher reported the following: 1. The Village of Larchmont and Mamaroneck have submitted their request for usage of the Hommocks Pool Facility for summer camp and approvals have been given. 2. Summer program registration is ongoing. Current registration numbers as of May 8th are as follows: Hommocks Playground - 237 Hommocks Extended Day - 19 Breakfast Club - 22 Pre School Camp - 62 Pre School Extended Day - 3 Monroe Pre School Camp - 91 Swim Lessons - 65 Tennis Camp - 63 Competitive Swim Team - 42 Golf Lessons/Camp - 22/5 Due to lower than expected number of applicants for Camp Monroe, the lottery was not necessary. 3. Many of our spring aquatic programs are currently underway with the following enrollment numbers: Bubble Babies 11 Swim Lessons 65 Seahorses 8 Scuba Diving 4 Spring Warm-up 24 Lifeguarding Training 10 Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes May 8, 2012 - Page 2 SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED: 4. Many of our spring youth and tot programs are currently underway with the following enrollment numbers: Babysitters Training 11 Dancing 30 Art Attack 11 Cooking 12 5. Additional classes for Dance and Cooking are being developed for the Fall/Winter Brochure. 6. To date,145 skaters have registered for the final session of Skating School. Last year in this session we had 67 participants. 7. The Hommocks Park Ice Rink will close for the season on June 15th 8. The First Annual Ladies Bingo Night was held on Friday, April 27th. It was a huge success with 62 in attendance. 9. The outdoor pools and lawn area are in the process of being prepared for the summer season. The facility will open for the summer season on Saturday, June 16th 10.Stop and Shop of Larchmont has committed to sponsor one of our summer concerts in the amount of$2,400. 11.On April 26th, Ms. Jill Fisher met with three (3) vendors interested in submitting proposals to quote the Ice Rink/Pool Concession. The deadline for submission is May 17th 12.The Town has paid the past due invoice for the 2009/2010 pool season to the Mamaroneck School District. 13.Information on new ice rinks being built in Connecticut and the Bronx were enclosed. 14.We are currently still working with our software support team to implement the e-mail blast system regarding Recreation Department updates. 15.Mike Gibson has completed a two day class to become a Certified Pool Operator (CPO). 16.Landtek made a visit on May 2nd to check on the progress of the field. 17.The Fall/Winter brochure fees will be proposed and reviewed at the next meeting. 18.A used trailer has been acquired from the Town Garage. It will be fixed up and used to transport our 8 kayaks. 19.BBS Architects will be making a presentation to the staff on Thursday, May 10th 20.Bob Greason has been awarded the E. Mario Cribari Voluntary Service Award through WRAPS (Westchester Recreation and Park Society). We will also present him with a plaque on behalf of the Recreation Department at the June 12th meeting. PROPOSED ICE RINK FEES: No fee changes are being recommended for the 2012/2013 season. MYHA will be required to pay the prevailing rate of$450/hour and the rate will be discounted to $425/hour for any hours rented over 475. A spring ice rate will be offered for next year that will be valid from April 1 — closing, at the rate of$562.50/90 minutes. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by Commissioner Druker, seconded by Commissioner Paonessa, the meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
