MEETING MINUTES
April 22, 2014

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting held in the V.F.W. Lodge, 1288 Boston Post Road, Larchmont was
called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Druker.
ACCEPTANCE OF MEETING MINUTES:
On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Rainaldi, the
Meeting Minutes of March 26, 2014 were unanimously approved as submitted.
SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE:
Ms. Fisher reported the following:
1. Summer program registration is ongoing. Current registration numbers as of
April 10th are as follows:
Hommocks Playground - 246
Hommocks Extended Day - 15
Breakfast Club - 86
Pre School Camp - 60
Monroe Pre School Camp - 69
Swim Lessons - 82
Tennis Camp - 17
Golf Lessons/Camp - 26/14
2. Many of our spring youth and tot programs are currently underway.
3. Our spring tennis programs will begin the second week of May.
4. To date, 358 skaters have registered for the final session of Skating School.
Last year in this session we had 342 participants.
5. Hommocks Park Ice Rink General Admission numbers for March 2013 and 2014
were enclosed for review.
6. Our March vacation programs, Magic and Aviators had 16 participants enrolled.
7. MYHA will host an Ice Breaker Tournament at the ice rink Friday, May 2nd —
Sunday, May 4th. The ice rink will close for renovations on Monday, May 5th.
8. Our new spring sports programs that started April 22nd with US Sports Institute
was a huge success. Enrollment numbers are as follows:
T-Ball Squirts 33
Parent and Me Sports 20
Total Sports Squirts 20
9. The deadline for scholarship applications was April 18th. Currently, we have 10
applications.

10.Rob Lunde has been gathering ice rink rates from other facilities. He will be
prepared to propose new fees for the 2014 / 2015 season at the June meeting.
11.The 2013 Year End Financial Report and Annual Expense to Revenue Report is
enclosed for review.
12.Six companies submitted bids for the replacement of the fencing. WBE Fence
was awarded the job for $19,195. The work will start as soon as possible and
should be completed before lessons start on May 12th. The additional money
left over from our estimate of$35,000 will be used for additional improvements
to the park.
13.The fields opened for play on Saturday, April 5th
14.The Community Yard Sale will take place on Sunday, May 4th in the parking lot
across from Memorial Park.
15.An Installation Schedule provided by Honeywell that outlines the planned work
for the ESCO project is enclosed. A new schematic detailing the design of the
new building, mechanicals and Zamboni building are enclosed for review.
16.All of the beams in the ice rink will be re-painted before it closes down on May
5th
17.As soon as the ice rink closes, Rob and his staff will rehabilitate the rear 2 locker
rooms in time for camp. They will sandblast, paint, and install new lighting,
rubber flooring and benches.
18.We are currently researching new designs and estimates for new signage at the
ice rink.
UPDATE ON PLAYGROUND CAMP AT HOMMOCKS MIDDLE SCHOOL:
After a meeting with Mamaroneck School District officials on March 27th, we
received confirmation on April 9th that we have secured some space within the
Hommocks Middle School for this summer. We have been given 3 classrooms and the
cafeteria. We have been informed by the District that there will be a charge for this
usage; however, we have not been told an amount.
REQUEST FROM MR. MICHAEL LOGA:
An e-mail request from Mr. Michael Loga from MYHA was enclosed for review. Mr.
Loga is requesting some additional ice time. His request has been tabled until the June
meeting.
PAINT COLOR OPTIONS FOR HOMMOCKS ICE RINK LOBBY AND COMMUNITY
ROOM:
The Commission reviewed and discussed paint color options for the ice rink lobby
and community room. It was decided that they would trust the rink staffs opinion
regarding this choice once the new flooring was installed.
MONDO RUBBER FLOORING COLOR OPTIONS FOR HOMMOCKS ICE RINK
ARENA, LOBBY AND COMMUNITY ROOM:
The Commission reviewed and discussed the Mondo rubber flooring color options
for the ice rink arena, lobby and community room. The Commission agreed that the dark
blue and dark grey would be their preferred color combination.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by
Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Plansky, the meeting adjourned at 8:15
P.M.
