MEETING MINUTES
March 12, 2013

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Druker.
Ms. Fisher introduced Susan Sigel as the new Recreation Commissioner. Susan is
filling the position vacated by Beth Boyle.
ACCEPTANCE OF MEETING MINUTES:
On a motion by Commissioner Plansky, seconded by Commissioner Rainaldi, the
Meeting Minutes of December 11, 2012 were approved as amended.
SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE:
Ms. Fisher reported the following:
1. Facility requests for use of the Carpino-Steffens Fields were received and
approved from Ms. Bari Suman, Mamaroneck School District, Mr. Sidney Ings,
Larchmont Junior Soccer League, and Mr. Peter Bennett, Larchmont-
Mamaroneck Youth Lacrosse Association.
2. The Spring/Summer brochure was mailed to residents the week of February 25th.
They are also available on the Town website.
3. There are two sessions of Skating School remaining.
4. Tennis permits have been mailed out to all 2012 permit holders. Village of
Larchmont and Village of Mamaroneck residents will be able to purchase permits
for Memorial Park Tennis Courts that will be valid for everyday of the week this
year.
5. The Mamaroneck Youth House League Hockey program concludes March 16th
Spring Hockey will begin on March 23rd. Program evaluation results will be
reviewed at the next Commission meeting.
6. Winter programs are all coming to an end. Camp registration will begin on March
16th and all other programs on March 18th
7. The Adult Triathlon program has 21 participants enrolled.
8. LandTek is scheduled to aerate, fertilize and over-seed the Carpino-Steffens
Fields the week of March 18th
9. The Memorial Park Tennis Courts will open on April 1st, but will not be staffed
until May 1st

SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED:
10. Our Groupon deal is over. We sold 1,368 Groupons for a total of$13,146.10.
11. Gus Lucas, Slapshot Café has been asked to install energy saver controls on his
vending machines in the ice rink.
12. The new ice rink fire alarm system has been completed. Both systems have
been running simultaneously to work out any issues. It will be inspected by the
Town Engineer and a training session will be held for all staff members and the
Fire Chief.
13. Work will be completed on the ice rink lighting by the end of March.
14. Our new grass cutting contractor, Acocella Contracting Inc., will begin service on
April 1st
15. On March 14th, bids will be opened for the resurfacing project of the Memorial
Park Tennis Courts. Six companies showed interest at our on-site, pre-bid
meeting. The commission unanimously agreed on the new court colors, blue
(inbound) and green (outbound).
16. Mike Gibson, our maintenance employee started back with us on Monday,
March 4th.
17. We have sold 39 half year non-resident pool passes since January 1st.
18. The estimate to repair the dehumidifier at the Ice Rink is $2,500.
2013 Scholarship Guidelines:
The 2013 Scholarship guidelines will remain the same as last year. The total amount of
aid distribution will not exceed $8,000. On a motion by Commmissioner Rainaldi,
seconded by Chairman Druker, the request was unanimously approved.
Overview of Ice Rink:
Mr. Stephen Altieri gave an overview of the renovations that will take place at the Ice
Rink beginning April, 2014. Mr. Altieri explained the plans for the Town to issue an
energy service contract that would also include other Town facilities in addition to the
ice rink. Mr. Altieri explained how adding in the Fire House, Town Center and street
lighting under one umbrella will provide larger energy savings to help fund the
renovations needed at these locations and the rink. BBS Architects will be putting
together the RFP to solicit proposals from various ESCO companies.

There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by
Commissioner Rainaldi, seconded by Chairman Druker, the meeting adjourned at 8:15
P.M.
