MEETING MINUTES
December 11 , 2012

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting held in the Community Room of the Hommocks Park Ice Rink was called
to order at 7:35 P.M. by Commissioner Paonessa.
ACCEPTANCE OF MEETING MINUTES:
On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Paonessa, the Meeting
Minutes of October 10, 2012 were unanimously approved as submitted.
SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE:
Ms. Fisher reported the following:
1. Currently 144 children are registered in the Youth Hockey House League
program. We have several new players due to Playland being closed.
2. Session II of Skating School concludes on December 21st with an enrollment of
279. Last year, Session II had a total of 266 skaters registered. Additional staff
will be hired due to higher enrollment.
3. To date 27 non-resident pool passes (for a total of$7,155) have been sold.
4. The Men's Basketball program is averaging 62 participants each night.
5. The Hommocks Park Ice Rink once again hosted the Town of Mamaroneck Fire
Department's Toy Drive on Sunday, December 2nd
6. The Adult Triathlon program was so successful that a winter session has been
added.
7. A new e-mail newsletter has been initiated. It will reach approximately 3,000 e-
mail addresses.
8. With Playland Ice Casino being closed, we have been aggressively advertising
the Hommocks Ice Rink and all it has to offer.
9. Our Groupon.com deal was so successful that we are running it again December
13th — 19th
10.The Ice Rink is hosting a Holiday Breakfast on Sunday, December 23rd
11.Two tree stumps will need to be removed and the fence will need to be repaired
along the rink pathway due to Hurricane Sandy.
12.The Carpino-Steffens Fields were aerated, top-dressed, seeded and fertilized on
November 26th. The fields are now closed until the beginning of April.

SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED:
13.The Recreation staff is currently working on the spring/summer brochure. The
goal is to have it online and out to all residents in early March. Registration is set
to begin on March 16th
14.Mr. Rick Nadeau, Director of Fan Development for the NY Rangers is interested
in working with the Recreation Department to elevate our skating and hockey
programs.
15.The 2013 budget will be formally adopted on December 19th. There was no
change to our department's budget except for adding back in expenses and
revenue related to the operation of the ice rink in the spring.
16.The resurfacing of the Memorial Park Tennis courts for this spring has been
approved under the Capital Projects.
17.Rye Brook has announced plans to build a new ice arena.
18.Invoices will be going out to Mamaroneck School District and Larchmont Junior
Soccer League for their field reimbursement costs.
19.No new updates regarding renovations to the ice rink. A licensed service
contractor was in to evaluate our existing equipment and make recommendations
to keep it running one additional year.
20.The fire alarm installation is progressing slowly.
2013 TENNIS PERMIT FEES FOR NON RESIDENTS —VILLAGES OF LARCHMONT
AND MAMARONECK:
After a brief discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Paonessa, seconded by
Commissioner Morello to extend the non-resident permits for residents of the Villages of
Larchmont and Mamaroneck to be valid for use 7 days a week rather than just
weekdays. All in favor. This will be re-evaluated again next year.
REQUEST FOR DONATED ICE TIME FROM MICHAEL LOGA:
Michael Loga from MYNA has requested a donation of 2 hours of ice time for their 4th
annual Turkey Shoot-out. On a motion by Commmissioner Paonessa, seconded by
Commissioner Morello, the request was unanimously approved.
SUMMER 2013 POOL HOURS:
The Commission reviewed the policy of closing the pool to Camps during the summer
from noon — 12:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. After further discussions and review of
attendance records, Commissioner Paonessa made a motion to discontinue this policy,
seconded by Commissioner Siskind. All in favor.
RESIGNATION OF BETH BOYLE:
Unfortunately, Beth Boyle has resigned from the Recreation Commission. A
replacement will be appointed.

adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
