HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927_09_02 Town Board Minutes MEETING ON THE T57N BOARD TOTH OF MkMARONECK, N. Y. held September 2nd, 1927. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at :45 P. M- Present : Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Howell and Leeds Town Clerk Sherman The Committee on cells for the Weaver Street Police Station reported that they had met and conferred with the State Prison Commission at Albany and presented their plans for the erection of the cells . The Committee stated, that the plans were approved by the Commission but that the Commission had suggested certain changes in the plans and specifications, due to the fact that they were somewhat elaborate. The Committee recommended that new plans and specific- ations be drawn to meet the changes suggested by the Prison Com- mission. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that the Committee be and it hereby is authorized and empowered to immediately prepare plans and spec- ifications as suggested by the State Prison Commission, and a notice to bidders for the receipt of bids to the Town Board for necessary cells for the Police Headquarters) in accordance with the said plans and specifications to- gether with any other necessary repairs in connection therewith, and it was further RESOLVED, that the Town Board meet for the purpose of receiving said bids on September Ath, 1527, at 2:00 Pa M. , and the Town Clerk was authorized and em= powered to make the necessary arrange- ments for the advertising of said bids . Justice Leeds reported that Engineer A. J. Foote, to whom was referred the matter of tabulating the bids received by this Board for the construction of a stor*., water drainage system, has tabulated the bids in question and reported that J. C. Bacile Company was the lowest bidder for Sections 2 and 3 and that the Lock Joint Pipe Company was the lowest bidder for Section 1 which covered the furnishing of reinforced concrete pipe, and offered for adoption, the following resolutions: RESOLVED, that the contract for the construction of the storm water drain- - age system e=mbraced under Sections 2 and 3 in the notice to bidders be and the same hereby is awarded to J. C. Enoile & Company of White Plains, N. y. , its bid being the lowest bid received by this Board for said work; and be it further I RESOLVED, that the contract for the furnishing of the reinforced concrete pipes covered under Section l of the notice to bidders for the storm water drainage system in the Town of Mamaroneck, be and the same hereby is awarded to the Lech joint Pipe Company, its bid being the lowest bid received for said pipe by this Board; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk be and they hereby are authorized and empowered to have prepared to execute suitable contracts for the construction and completion of said drainage system in accordance with the plans and specif- ications prepared by A. j. Foote, Civil Engineer, and heretofore approved by this Board; and it was further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to return to the un- successful bidders the checks accompany- ing such bids upon receiving a proper receipt therefor® The question being taken up on the aforementioned res- olution, the same was, upon roll call, unanimously adopted.
