Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes
February 5, 2019
SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED:
15.The Town Administrator has decided to close the Town Center on July 5th for a
long holiday weekend. Since we feel we cannot comfortably operate camp
without the support of the Recreation office, we have adjusted the camp
schedule to be closed July 4th and 5th. Therefore, all camp fees have been
adjusted accordingly.
16.We received only one bid, for $179,500 from the same contractor for the Ice Rink
Concession Expansion Project. This amount exceeds our budget by over
$100,000. Therefore, we will continue to make improvements as best as possible
within the existing foot print. Rob Lunde, Ice Rink Manager, has started to order
replacement equipment for the concession. A new commercial grade ice
machine and stove have been ordered and we will establish a schedule to try
and start on some of the improvements during the spring season.
17.The Recreation Office has been notified by the I.T. Director, Rosalind Cimino that
the following projects have been pushed back until the end of 2019 due to her
workload:
• Installation of the video display system that is to be used to display
our advertisements, notices and locker room assignments.
• The installation of additional video cameras needed to provide full
coverage of the facility.
18.A meeting with Mr. Daniel Tenney, Weston and Sampson will take place on
Friday, February 8th to discuss the proposed locker room/shower additions at the
ice rink. Mr.Tenney has been asked to come prepared to provide potential ways
to reduce costs on this project. Ms. Fisher will keep the Commission updated on
this matter.
19.The Town has hired consultants to devise a Compressive Plan. The Recreation
Department's facilities will be included in this Plan. The Senior Center, Ice Rink,
Hommocks Pool, Memorial Park and Sheldrake will all be included.
2019 SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES:
The 2019 Scholarship guidelines were reviewed. The total amount of aid distributed will
not exceed $8,000. On a motion by Commissioner Plansky, seconded by
Commissioner Sigel, the request to accept the 2019 scholarship guidelines was
unanimously approved.
CHAIRMAN UPDATE:
Chairman Druker reminded all Commissioners of the importance of trying to attend
some of the many Recreation Department events and activities being offered
throughout the year.

Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Rainaldi, the meeting was adjourned at
