17.The Memorial Park tennis courts and park building have been winterized, closed
and locked up for the winter. The tunnel bays under the bridge have been

18.The Recreation budget was presented on November 1st. The Town Board
seems very pleased with our submission and no changes have been suggested
at this time.
19.The Recreation staff is currently working on the 2017 Spring/Summer brochure.
We plan to have the brochure out to residents in early February.
20.Steve Altieri, Vicky Laoutaris and Jill Fisher met with Mark Jackson of Coastline
Consulting regarding the possibility of building a kayak launch at the Hommocks
Conservation area. Mark Jackson stated that dredging a channel out to the
sound would be too costly and is looking into other options.
21. A new electric awning has been installed on the pool filter building. This will
create an additional shade area for the pool.
22.The new outdoor picnic tables have arrived at the pool. They will be covered up
for the winter.
23.Jill Fisher has reached out to the School District in regards to the pool rental rate
during the Early Morning Swim time. We are looking for a reduce rate during this
time or we will need to consider cancelling this program due to the cost of it.
REQUEST FROM DAN DEMASI:
Mr. Dan DeMasi, organizer of the Adult Ice Breaker Hockey Tournament has requested
donated ice time for their fundraising tournament on April 27th — 30th. All proceeds will
go to the Hommocks Park Ice Rink Locker-Room Trust Fund Account. On a motion by
Commissioner Paonessa, seconded by Commissioner Plansky, the request was
unanimously approved. All in favor.
TEEN TRAVEL CAMP:
Ms. Fisher presented to the Commission a new structure for the Teen Travel Camp
based upon results from a survey conducted. The new Teen Travel Camp would be
broken into two (3) week sessions and participants would travel five days per week.
Since the Teen campers would be traveling each day, it would then allow us to take
additional kids into the Hommocks Playground Camp .Participants would be able to
register for either session or both sessions.
The Commission expressed concern that the fee may not be affordable to all families.
Chairman Druker, suggested a fee structure of$1,350/session and $2,600 for both
sessions. It was also suggested that we offer scholarships for qualifying families. After
further discussion, the Commission unanimously agreed to try this new format for
2017. All in favor.
Ms. Fisher stated that the staff would concentrate on finalizing the trip schedule and all
costs for next month's meeting.
