MEETING MINUTES
March 8, 2016

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting held at the VFW Lodge was called to order at 7:20 P.M. by Chairman
Druker.
ACCEPTANCE OF MEETING MINUTES:
On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Rainaldi, the Meeting
Minutes of February 16, 2016 were approved as amended.
SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE:
Ms. Fisher reported the following:
1. Brochures were mailed out the week of February 22nd. Registration for Camp
begins on Saturday, March 12th. All forms can be found on the department
website.
2. Registration for Session 5 of Skating School begins on March 14th.
3. Tennis permit application forms have been mailed out to all 2015 permit holders.
4. General admission attendance numbers for February 2015 and 2016 are
enclosed for review. Attendance was down by 1,000 visitors compared to last
year.
5. A copy of the March Hommocks Park Ice Rink calendar is enclosed for your
information.
6. Winter programs are ending in March. Spring sessions are set to begin in April.
7. Our Adult Triathlon program has been successful with 16 enrolled.
8. The Hommocks pool will be closed over the Spring Break for annual
maintenance. Notifications have been posted.
9. Summer concert sponsorship letters have gone out.
10.A flyer for the Annual Ice Breaker Hockey Tournament is enclosed for your
information.
11.The Groupon for the Hommocks Park Ice Rink has sold out for the season. To
date, $22,500 has been received from Groupon.
12.Two High School Sectional Games were held at the rink on February 24th and
26th. Mamaroneck High School won both games.

13.A flyer regarding the NY Rangers Road Tour visiting the Hommocks Park Ice
Rink is enclosed for your information.
14.Our 2nd Annual 5K Bunny Run and Lil' Bunny Run is scheduled to take place on
Sunday, April 10, 2016.
15.A copy of the Spring Youth Hockey flier is enclosed for your information. Spring
Hockey begins on April 9th
16.House League Hockey concludes on March 19th. A new program evaluation is
being sent out to all participants to provide us with additional feedback to plan for
next year's program.
17.Maintenance on the fields is scheduled to take place the week of March 14th,
weather permitting.
18.The Memorial Park Tennis Courts will open on April 1st and attendants will be on
duty starting May 1st. The tennis courts will be professionally power washed
before our tennis lessons begin this season.
19.The new rink scoreboards arrived on Friday, March 7th. Rob Lunde will be
installing the new scoreboards when his schedule allows.
20.A copy of the latest pool invoice is enclosed for review. We are now going to be
billed quarterly for our usage.
21.To date, we have sold 39 Yearly Non Resident Pool permits for $16,800.
22.A copy of an email from Rosalind Cimino, Town I.T. Director is enclosed. The
Recreation Office will be preparing for online registration beginning this fall.
23.A photo is enclosed of the new tennis ball recycling container that we will be
introducing at the Memorial Park Tennis Courts.
24.On February 29th, we were notified that the School District is planning to move
the CO-OP Camp out of Mamaroneck Avenue School and into Central School
this summer. The School District has advised us that we will now need to move
to the Murray Avenue School for our Pre School Camp location.
FACILITY REQUEST FOR CARPINO-STEFFENS FIELDS:
Facility requests for use of the Carpino-Steffens Fields were submitted from Ms. Bari
Suman, Mamaroneck School District, Mr. Sid Ings, Larchmont Jr. Soccer League, Mr.
Peter Bennett, Larchmont/Mamaroneck Youth Lacrosse and Mr. Matt Popoli,
Westchester Soccer Club. Ms. Bari Suman has requested additional time on the fields
for the Boys Lacrosse Team this season due to possible field maintenance at Flint Park.
On a motion by Commissioner Morello, seconded by Commissioner Plansky, the
commission unanimously approved the field usage requests. All in favor.
DISCOUNTED ICE RINK RENTAL FEE FOR SPRING 2015:
Rob Lunde, Ice Rink Manager made a proposal to discount the spring ice rental fee
from $460/hr. to $400/hr. in April and $375/hr. in the months of May and June. These
are the same discounted spring rates approved last year.
On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Rainaldi, the commission
unanimously approved to discount the spring ice rental fee for another year. All in favor.

NEW BUSINESS:
Commissioner Sigel suggested that an RFP be considered in the future for the tennis
programs held at Memorial Park. Commissioner Sigel suggested that a new Tennis
Contractor might offer new classes and clinics.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by
Commissioner Rainaldi, seconded by Commissioner Plansky, the meeting adjourned at
8:00 P.M.
