Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes May 9, 2017 - Page 3 SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED: NEW TIME FOR FRIDAY NIGHT SKATE: Bari Suman, Athletic Director of Mamaroneck High School has requested that the Varsity Hockey team be allowed to extend their ice time from 7:00 pm until 7:15 pm on Friday nights for home varsity hockey games. Since this will impact our Friday night public sessions, Mr. Lunde has negotiated with the district that they must rent the ice time for all Friday's until 7:15 pm and not just those when games are being played. This would guarantee a little additional revenue and provide a consistent Friday night schedule. Mr. Lunde has asked the Commission to approve this request beginning this fall. On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Morello, the commission unanimously approved this request on a one year trial basis. ICE RINK FEES AND WEEKEND SKATING HOURS: Rob Lunde, Rink Manager proposed to leave all Rink General Admission Fees the same for the 2017-2018 season even with the admission attendance being down from last year. After much discussion, the Commission unanimously agreed to leave the admission fees the same but to increase the ice rental rate by $10.00/hour to $490. Mr. Lunde also recommended reducing the following ice rink public session hours that have poor attendance and convert them into ice rental time for additional revenue. Saturday hours — 1:00 pm — 5:15 pm reduce to 1:00 pm — 4:15 pm Sunday hours — 11:00 am — 5:15 pm reduce to 11:00 am — 4:00 pm On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Paonessa, the commission unanimously approved the proposed ice rental rate and reduced weekend hours. COMMUNITY ROOM FEES: Rob Lunde, Rink Manager has suggested increasing the fees for the Community Room rentals and adding an additional hour onto the rental time. On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Rainaldi, the commission unanimously approved the Community Room rate increase and additional hour. All in favor.
