MEETTNG OF THE TOWN BOARD

held May 6, 1927

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton
at 5: 30 P . M.
Present:
Supervisor Burton
Justices Collins, Howell and Leeds
Town Clerk Sherman
Counsellor Gamble
The Clerk stated that pursuant to notice duly advertised
the Board should now consider the various applications and plans
for the building permits which had been denied as being in vio-
lation of the Zoning Ordinance.
After reading of the notice as advertised and after dis-
cussing and considering the various applications and plans for
building permits before the Board, it was upon motion duly seconded,
unanimously
RESOLVED, Whereas the Town Beard of the
Town of Mamaroneck his duly advertised
pursuant to lava, a public meeting for the
purpose of considering certain applications
- therein stated, made under the Zoning Ordinance
of the Unincorporated part of the Town of
Mamaroneck, which applications are now pending, and
WHEREAS, the said Town Board having held svid
hearing and both parties having been granted
the privilege of appearing for or in opposition
to the granting of certain applications as
provided under the said Zoning Ordinance and
after due consideration, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that theTown Board of the Town of
Mamaroneck, sitting_- jointly as a Board of
Appeals and as a Torun Board does hereby grant
the following applications from the decision of
the Building Commission, which decision is hereby
reversed and does hereby unsent to the
granting of the following applications subject
in each case to the specific conditins and
safeguards therein stated.
1. Ar,p lication 1962 of Mary A. Boyle, for the erection of
-- a two car private gara_e on the west side of Sheldrake Avenue,
300 feet north from Forest Avenue, provided that the garage
is erected not le.=•s than 2 feet from either side line,
2. Application » 585 of Richard, C. Heather, for the erection
of a one family dwelling and garage on the east side of Heather
Lane, 250 feet east from Weaver Street, provided the building
is erected not less than 24 feet from the front lot line.
3. Application Q88 of L . J . Archambau.lt, Jr. for the
erection of a multi-car public garage on the north east side of Vine
Road, ajacent to the property of t_^e UT YORK, NEW HAVEN, & HARTFORD
RAILROAD COMPANY, provided that proper sectional drawings are
filed with the plans .

Supervisor Burton stated that the meeting had been
called pursuant to resolution of the Town Board, to consider
certain applications for an amen ment of the Zoning Ordinance
of the Unincorporated Section of the Town of Mamaronec h, which
amendment-would remove and transfer certain properties described
in the notice from the respective districts in which they are
now classified to the districts respectively set forth in said
notice.
The Clerk read the notice of the special meeting and
stated that the aame had been duly _publisher in accordance with
the law and presented an affidavit of publication, which, were
upon motion, ordered filed.
The Supervisor stated that the Town Board would now
consider the applications in the order in which they appeared
in the notice.
After discussion, upon motion of Mr. Justice Collins,
seconded by Mr. Justice Howell, it was unanimously
RESOLVED, that the Zoning Ordinance of the Un-
incorporated part of the Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester
County, Now Fork, (being an ordinance adopted
by the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck,
New York, at a meeting held on June 21, 1922,
by virtue of the Power vested in S= id Town
Board under the Provisions of Chapter 322 of the
laws of 1922, to establish building lies on
any proporty fronting or -djoining Inv public
streets and require all buildings hereafter
erected to be within such lines, to regulate
-- and restrict the location of trades and indust-
ries and the ocation of buildings designed Ar
special uses, to regulate and limit the height
of buildings hereafter erected, to regulate and
determine the area of yards, courts, and other �
open spaces surrounding buildings, and to establish the
boundaries of districts for the said purposes
and to Provide penalties for the violation of
its provisions) , together with the amendment
thereto, be amended as follows ,
That the Zoning Map which, to-ether with the
designations shown thereon, accompanies the
foresaid Ordinance and which is therein de-
clared to be and is made a part thereof, be
and the some hereby is amended as follows ,
1 . That all the land lying between the
southerly side of Myrtle Avenue (now known as
Myrtle Boulevard) on the north, a, line drawn
parallel with and 1001 westerly of the west-
erly side of Chatsworth Avenue on the east, the right
of way of the New fork, New Haven& Hartford
Railroad Company on the s uth side, and the
westerly boundary lire of Lot 10-a, in Block
-- 86, Sectioh 1, as shown on the Assessment Vap
of the Town of Mamaroneck on the west, be and
hereO is eliminated and removed from "Class
B Residential District" in which said lams is
now shown, and is hereby rezoned as "F- Unclassi -
fied District" .
BE IT FURTHB:R R-SOLVED;
That the Zoning E .p which, together with the
designations shown thereon, accompanies the
aforesaid Ordinance and which is therein de-
clared to be and is ;.jade a part thareof, be
and the ssme hereby is amended as follows:
2 . That all that plot or parcel of land
100 ' x 100' at the southeast corner of Wash-
ington Avenue and Madison Avenue (formerly
known as Monroe Avenue) running 100( ,westerly
on Madison Avenue from said corner, be and
hereby is eliminated and. removed from "Class
'B :Residential District" in which said blot or
; rcel of Iant is now shown, and is hereby
rezoned as "F&Unclassified District'"
BE IT FUpTH7R RESOLVED, that this ordinance shall
take effect emmediatelva and
BE IT FURTF7R RF,SOLVFfD, that the Town Clerk
publish and he hereby is authorized, directed,
and empowered to publish these resolutions in the
Larch;o t Tires and the Daily Times, newspapers
published in the said Town, and to post the
same in accordance with the law, end the cost
of publication and posting is hereby made a
proper town charge .
Upon motion, duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that the application for the
rezoning of the parcels of land set forth in
paragraphs 3,4 and 5 of the notice of this
meeting be adjourned to a Special Meeting
of this Board to be held on June 11 1527,

Upon motion, duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he
hereby is authorized, empowered and directed
to have not to exceed 250 copies of the
Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Mamaroneck,
together with the map which accompanies slid
ordinance, printed in book form at ar,rice and
upon terms within his diso7etion.
The Supervisor stated that the work in the Town Office
had increased to such a proportion and extent that the services
of a stenographer and assistant were necessary.
Upon motion, duly seconded, it wa,s
RESOLVED, that the Sup rvisor be and he hereby is
authorized and eEpoxered to employ the services of a stenographer
and general office assistant at a salary of not to exceed $1300
per annum.
Upon motion, 6uly seconded, it was
RESOLVED THAT THE Clerk be and he hereby is
authorized and empowered to re-arrange the
offices, obtain a telephone switchboard and
to purchase such additional equipment as may
in his judgment be necessary.
