PRESENT: Supervisor Burton justices Boyd,Howell,Leeds Town Clerk Sherman Counsellor Gamble Upon motion it was voted to dispense with. the reading of minutes of meetings not yet approved. The Clerk stated that pursuant to notice duly advertised, the Board should now consider applications for building permits which had been denied as being in violation, of the Zoning Ordinance. Upon the reading of the Notice as advertised and after discussing and considering in full the various applications axed plans for building permits before the Board, and at which time Messrs. Brinkerhoff, Page and Cassin, representing the Larchment Gardens Association and Mr. Scappaticci appear- ed before the Board in apposition to the granting of a permit to George E.Quinby for the erection of a one family dwelling and garage on the south side of Lane- dor~ne Drive, asking modification of Article 2, Section 3 of the Zoning Ordinance, it was, upon motion duly seconded .animously RESOLVED, whereas the Town Board of the Torn of Uh aaroneck has duly advertised pursuant to lazy a Public Meeting for the purpose of considering certain applications therein stated made under the Zoning Ordinance of the Unincorporated Part of the Town of h1ma.roneck, which applications are now pending, and WHEREAS$ the said Town Board having held said Hearing and both parties appearing for and/or in opposition to the granting of certain applications as provided Wder the said Zoning Ordinance and after due consideration, therefore be it R.ESOLVE;D, that the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck, sitting jointly as a Board of appeals and as a Town. Board does hereby grant the following appli- cations from the decision of the Building Commission which decision is hereby reversed and does hereby consent to the granting of the following applications subject in each respective case to the specific conditions and safeguards therein stated:- 1.- application #918 of E.T.Becker for the erection of a one family dwelling and garage on the east side of Rockingstone Avenue 200 feet north from Valley Road, provided that the building is erected not less than 26 feet from the front lot line. 2. Application of Larclmlont Gardens Company for the erection of a one family dwelling on the southeast side of Garden Road 1 87 feet northeast from Locust Road, prodded that the building is not less than 1.77 feet from the side lot line; and be it further RESOLVED, that application x`729 of George E. Quinby for the erection of a one family — dwelling and garage on the south side of Lansdowne Drive, asking modification of Article 2, Section 3of the Zoning Ordinance be and the sane hereby is denied; and be it FLIRT= RESOLVEDDstha.t the Building Commission be requested and directed to take any and all steps necessary to have the building conform. Wraith the Zoning Ordinance and the plans on file; and be it further RE'SOLVEDsthat the Town: Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to certify the action of this Town Board to the Building Cormnissi on. The Committee on the alterations to the Town Fall presented plans and sketches for the remodeling of the same. After discussion by the Board, it was, upon motion duly seconded RESOLVEDsthat the Committee on alterations to the Town Hall be and they hereby are _ authorized to direct the architect to prepare the necessary plans and specificat- ions in detail for the purpose of receiving bids to ascertain the tentative costs etc. for said alteration. A communication from the Larohment-11maroneck Board of Real Estate Brokers was received and read requesting that certain streets in the Town of Mamaroneck be designated for coasting and that such streets be closed up, posted and policed in order that the children may enjoy the sport. The communication was ordered placed on file and the same was referred to the Superintendent of HAghways and Police Department. The Chairman stated that it was now in order for the meeting, in accordance with a resolution of the Town Board heretofore adopted, to consider the bids received in connection with the reconstruction of the Weaver Street Fire Ilouae. Justice Leeds reported on behalf of the Committee in charge of said work that the Committee and the engineers had examined the bids and recommended that the bid of W.E. Iyon Iron Torks for Section A of $2659. be accepted end gnat all bids for Section B be rejected and that new bids be asked for Section B. After discussion, upon motion, duly secondedsit was RESOLVED, that the bid of W.E.Iycn Iron Works in the Suit of $2659. for furnish- ing material and performing the labor required under Section A of the specifications for reinforcing of said apparatus floor in the Weaver Street Fire House in accordance with the plane and specifications for same be accepted and that the contract be awarded to said `W.E.Lyon Iron Works.
